Conceptually wise, Dressrosa is the equivalent of the Alabasta saga. Except that story was told a lot better and you did not feel its length.
The Baroque works arc covered 4 islands (WP, LG, Drum) culminating with Alabasta. We never stayed too long at the same place and Oda did not add too many characters in a way that would break the pace. It was also the time where we did not kick out half of the crew.
Look at how the Alabasta saga covered more islands with less chapters than the DD arcs.
