General & Others Pudding being bullied doesn't make sense.

During WCI we were supposed to believe that because Pudding had a third eye she was bullied and labeled a freak on Totland. Bitch please Her mother is literally 50 feet tall, she has a brothers and sisters who are Fishmen, Longneckes, Dwarfs, and all around freaks, but she was made fun of? Even at the beginning of the arc they stated that even a talking alligator was no big deal.
So how are we supposed to believe that she would be treated any differently?

The older ones having problem makes sense cause meme was out and about and they probably had to fend for themselves which is why they seem to have a strong bond.
But pudding shouldnt have been. Totland was well established by then and she should be spoilt like flampe.

she was the only 3 eye, so it makes sense for her to be an outcast

it was clear that BM neglected and abused her kids so I think she could have just allowed her kids to be bullied in order to toughen them up
Their status as Big Mom's kids alone should be enough to scare off anyone unless BM openly disowns them or encourage the Bullies...

I think the kids were jeleous of how pudding was pampered to hell. She lived dual life where she was pampered little child and her sibling didnt give much of a sibling treatment.

Its just messed up family big mom had. Remember perospero telling katakuri to hide his mouth even though pero himself looks weird. Its just funny how big mom kids have insecureness.

Big mom never loved her children they all wanted some sort of attention from her.

Big Mom children being bullies make no sense given who their mom is. Who the hell would bully someone who is essentially prince/princess?
It makes sense, depending on the timeline.
Big Mom wasn't already the Yonko, the ruler of Totland during their childhood. When BM was still Rocks, she already had some children.

So when Rocks fell, BM was at her weakest. People that disliked her or Rocks might use the chance to bully her children.
The year Brulee was scarred by street thugs was said 38 years ago, so the same year with event of Rocks' fall.

Good observation i like how well you connected with rocks and bruless incident.

However by the time pudding born 16 years ago big mom was already settled in tottland.

Tbh that 'bullying' flashback served one purpose only- to have Pudding turn and make her likeable again because tragic backstory. It makes 0 sense, I fully agree. In a country like Tottoland... where minks, fishmen and people of the long-limb-tribes run around.... Pudding, a daughter of the Emperor ruling this place is being bullied for an extra eye?

yeah, I agree on that part.
The idea of both of Pudding and katakuri being bullied is silly as fuck to me. Considering the diverse races and the different freaks who exist on the island. ZERO SENSE.

But Oda simply wanted it to make it easier for fans to forgive Pudding by doing that. The problem for me is that Sanji turning a female enemy into ally happened TWICE. Viola and Pudding. My problem is that with Viola, it MADE SENSE how it was handled, as she was forced to join Mingo family at first, and secondly, she basically LOOKED INSIDE Sanji's heart with her DF to end up on his side.
With Pudding, oda had to make a flashback of her of people bullying her for third eye in a country where ALL RACES are supposed to gather, and no discrimination, YET, somehow, only for Pudding and Katakuri. Yes, that's fucking stupid writing.
I love you Oda, but that's dumb by all scales. No matter how you twist it LOL. But, anyway, it's his story, and it's what he wants, and I'm enjoying the ride of One Piece no matter what.

I think if Oda switched between Viola and Pudding in Dressrosa and WCI, the writing would have been much more logical and better.

Viola being on WCI, who was forced to join BMP by their overwhelming strength and they want her ability because she can simply extract info from enemy easily, and Sanji turns her as ally the same way he did in Dressrosa

While, Pudding being in Dressrosa, being part of the Donquixote family, they have shown before an attitude of LAUGHING at their comrade Senor Pink because of what he wears, so the idea of Pudding getting mocked at for her third eye is plausible.

Again, just from a writer stand of point, that makes a bit more sense LOL

I think it makes sense, mostly cuz bullying in general isn’t about making sense. Katakuris bullies slashed Brûlée face knowing full well he could/would kick their asses. Also I think BMs getting too much credit. If she’s not losing her shit over cake, she would just pile on the bullying

We've had this conversation before. It's not supposed to make sense. Bullying is a concept that isn't grounded in "reason" or "rationality". It's inherently irrational. It's already stupid. Childish. And that was the point.

The point of Totto Land was that it's a society of children being ruled by the biggest child of all. Big Mom. She's a terrible parent and her bad mothering is the cause of all the problems with her children. Those who chronically bully have strained relationships with parents and peers. And considering Big Mom's bad parenting and how she sees her children as nothing more that tools. It's not hard to see why they'd often resort to bullying or be bullied in turn.

When you understand the mindset of the bully and the bully victim these things become clear.
