Questions & Mysteries Question about Ryokugyu’s codename

#1
Ryokugyu’s name translates to “Green Bull,” with “kugyu” translating to bull. What confuses me though is the “Ryo” part of his name. According to Google, green in Japanese is “midori,” not “Ryo”. At first I thought this might be a similar case to Fujitora, where her name translates to “Wisteria Tiger” instead of “Purple Tiger (Shitora)”. This is because Oda didn’t think the Japanese version of “Purple Tiger” would sound good, so he replaced purple with wisteria since it would sound better and still relate to the color purple since wisteria is strongly associated with purple. “Midorikugyu” would sound even worse than “Shitora,” so it would make sense if Oda did the same thing for Ryokugyu’s codename. However, I can’t find any evidence that this is the case with Ryokugyu.

It's the same kanji that's used for green tea (ryokucha)
So it is a similar case to Fujitora? Wonder why the wiki doesn’t mention this.

If an Orange Admiral or Zodiac VA gets introduced, I wonder if Oda will do a similar thing with his codename. Orange is Japanese is either “daidai” or “orenji,” with wouldn’t sound that good when combined with any one of the four remaining Zodiac animals (nezuki, hebi, yagi, and ryu)

Probably the same as with Fuji
Also, Green Tea is herbal so it's kinda a hint for Ryokugyu's powers

You can look up colors on jisho.org that's where I found the ryokucha kanji
