0/10, I saw nothing good about it. Only positive thing about G5 is the durability but it's ugly, the fighting style is the least impressive we've seen from everyone around or above YC level we've seen so far. Even fucking Kidd was cooler

Why the fuck did Oda go for such a terrible retcon when it was not needed at all?

What I didn't get is why he removed all the creative part of luffy's df, he literally removed a key aspect of luffy's character

Pre wano luffy: "I can use the elastic properties of my blood vessels in order to pump blood into my heart faster thus increasing my speed"

"by combining my haki with my rubbery body I can increase the tensile strength of my body which would help me compress and decompress the air in my body far more efficiently thus increasing the strength of my attacks and granting me the ability to fly at high speed "

And the Zoan Luffy is just him turning white, ridiculous again
And he removed the creativity like you said but also the struggle, now Luffy can apparently do whatever he wants but he still appeared weak in his G5 however. This the weirdest and lamest power up I've seen given to a MC in shonen.

Luffy should've just gotten the ability to turn everything into rubber, like imagine him getting hit by kaido just to bounce back and hit kaido back with all the strength of the attack, it wouldn't have taken anything from luffy's character

G5 is a GAG power up im embarrassed zoro has to share, same manga as nika luffy. He is a character whos style is cool like bleach or naruto characters. But he has to share it with looney toones goofy Monkey Nikka. So sad for Zoro.

The fight was soo cool up until G5 IMO
The choreography when Luffy dodged Thunder Bagua was top tier fighting

After G5, the tone shift and lack of a wow factor —that would’ve came if G5 seemed so much more overwhelmingly powerful than Luffy before he awakened— caused the fight to drop off dramatically
The unpredictability saved it from being bad IMO, but strictly the G5 section was average. Having a power up offer primarily versatility is a hard thing to pull off in such an important moment

I do like the power up and Sky-Splitting Luffy vs Kaido overall(everything post Yamato) was still good-great for me but it’s hard carried by when Luffy was using his Roc attacks which I thought was amazing pre G5

Adcoc G2/g3 / g4 vs Kaido was on that level of kata vs luffy

Oda went on ruining the fight ny making G5

Awakening should have been reserved for Teach
And luffy shouldn't be a Zoan

The fight become too dull. No intensity, no seriousness, fight like that can't be good at all.
And the bad thing is that it even more dragging.
Luffy should have just used Bajrang Gun next 2 chapter after G5 reveal ,if everything he did was going to be useless whatsoever, because Kaido still tanks everything bar BG

Imo, if Oda's gonna do, he should have at least make Kaido drunk again. Idk it would be better than what we go, but if there's not going to be intensity or stakes anymore at least the fight would be entertaining to see in entertainment POV. G5 vs Homicidal Kaido

1 point for the jump rope while even stupid could have been fun

- G5 killed the tension
- G5 was bullshit all along with Luffy getting free PU every time
- G5 cartoon fighting style wasn’t my cup of tea.
- G5 was immortal
- Nika DF is a lame idea
- Kaido still managed to fight G5 for the most part so it didn’t really change anything to the fight.
- I wanted to see other things from the turning everything into rubber
- grabbing thunder ?
- Kaido did other attacks while not drunk that were as powerful as before ?
- Kaido comments about haki ? Weird from a guy whose ultimate attack uses DF and the comment felt out of place
- the last attack was so boring : a punch even bigger ? Thanks it’s totally a refreshing idea
