6/10 imo

It had some good moments. Some hype moments. But a lot of places where the writing was just kinda ass. Wano was the culminations of 10 years of post timeskip one piece. This should have been the manga equivalent of Avengers infinity war and endgame.
But it just wasn't. The execution really wasn't the best.

The supernova trio and Zoro especially had really messy writing (ex. Zoro's lineage, Nika fruit asspulls, ect.)
The oden flashback was profoundly contrived
Oda couldn't even give us proper Kaido/Big Mom rocks flashbacks because he needs to save it for the future to preserve hype
The SHs feel like side characters in their own story

There was literally no tension during the war. The two major deaths, Ashura and Izo, meant absolutely nothing because Oda puts in so many fake deaths that nobody even believed they were dead until it was confirmed. Like really man, you just had to revive pound in a cover story? I swear to god, I cannot fathom how Oda writes bullshit like this. This is a major war arc, and Oda couldn't even pull off one meaningful death.

I guess Hawkins's death is pretty good, but who knows? it was never confirmed. Fucking Loda could reveal next chapter that Chopper, Marco, or Law saved him right after he passed out.

Already wrote about it in the other thread:

"Had some good moments, but also a lot of questionable writing.

Act 1 was really good. Good exposition and to the point.

Act 2 was too dragged out for the content that was actually in it (way too much Udon that didn't progress the story at all) and I really think the Oden flashback should've been the finale of act 2 and not being pushed to the beginning of act 3. This way act 2 would've ended on a dramatic note and the stage for the raid would've been set perfectly.

Act 3 (the raid) was a treat to anyone that wants action without having to think too much.
It was a horror to those that want consistent and logical storytelling though (at least in many instances).
Another problem was that the arc had already been so long at this point, that Oda forgot (or had to) skip a lot of plot points he actually built towards in act 1.

But this has been a constant problem of Oda post skip. Just look at Dressrosa or WCI. First 2/3 of the arc are really, really good and then the final 1/3 leaves a lot to be desired.

All in all - trying to be as objective as I can - I would give it a 7/10 or so.

It really still is a fun read if you don't think too much about it, hence the rather high rating.

If I had to judge storytelling alone, it would probably be a 5/10 or sth like that. "

3/10 - Act 1 was boring and unnecessary. Act 2 was okay, but there was too much unnecessary and bad plots. Act 3 backstory was fun (should’ve been shorter tho) but the raid had great moments that was watered down by the insanely slow plot progression, which when it got to the climax just pressed fast forward and skipped just about everything.

It honestly was a bad arc. The fights were cool, but the arc was slowed down and just filled with so much unnecessary plot that it went on for far too long with a very poor ending.

Maybe I’ll think higher of it if I read it as an arc and not weekly, but I think it’s definitely the weakest of the arcs as a whole despite having very cool moments.
