Lately there has been a lot of controversy in the anime community. Crunchyroll's hilarious abomination Ex-Arm being mocked for its horrendous production; even being revealed to being a potentially money laundering scheme.
Attack On Titan Dividing the fanbase over it's contentious CGI, leading towards tons of unnecessary hate being thrown at the animators.
And Jobless Reincarnation being accused of promoting pedophilia and sexism, with it's neckbeard protagonist in a body of a child perving on little girls.
HOWEVER, I'm not here to share my opinion on those anime. I already covered both Attack On Titan and EX-ARM. I'm here to bring attention to the new potential controversial king, the anime to split the heavens, causing a grand uproar on twitter, reddit, and the web alike; Redo Of Healer A.K.A revenge porn the anime!
Before we dive into the content of Redo Of Healer, we must examine it's core themes to understand what makes Redo Of healer so special. Be warned; Redo Of Healer is not Kin to the average watcher, so if you feel uncomfortable with the topics of rape, abuse, torture, sexual assault and all types of sin, then leave now it's my only warning!
CRUELTY
This anime is filled with cruelty; most of the characters are pure scumbags that take delight in rape and abuse. You can't trust a single individual because most of them have ulterior motives, masked behind their cheesy phones smiles.
LUST
In addition to that, Redo of Healer is VERY HORNY; and by that I mean there is literally sex around every corner; hell I could make a montage out of all the fucking, but I'm not going to link it here you fucking weebs lol. However, the lustfulness is not to be celebrated because most of is rape; nigh every character is seen forcing their way onto the protagonist like some sex deprived beast...
REVENGE
With the premise being about a young boy named keyura blessed with the powers of powerful healing magic, subjugated to endless abuse from his peers; raped and beaten for six months straight. With the source of his trauma stemming from Flare, the bitchiest princess alive. The cretin who imposed the ill fate onto keyura, taking pleasure in his pain, as she manically plots to conquer the world.
So he literally HEALS THE WORLD (made in heaven style; jojo fans will get it) resetting the universe to the past. Then with the wildest long play ever, he voluntarily subjects himself into the same torture so he can overthrow her corrupt authority and "revenge rape" her back; yeah....
IS KEYURA JUSTIFIED OR IS HE A VILLAIN?
Now there is a lot of debate over if Keyura's actions where justified because of Flair's kingdoms cruelty, or if this show is just some maniacs way to express his depraved dreams? On one hand, nobody should ever be subjugated to such terrible exploitation. And I wouldn't blame someone for wanting to enact revenge on such abuser.
However, there are limits to what qualifies to justifiably revenge (if you could justify revenge as the right choice anyway) and what tips your character into the same levels of disgust as the victimizer. And Keyura's actions quickly scale up from a tragic man on a journey of revenge, to a demented child looking to expel his trauma onto the world.
See I wouldn't have a problem with Keyura killing her (I don't condone murderous intent but this if fiction lol) or even just breaking her fingers; which is already pushing it because nobody should be subjected towards physical torture. However, as soon as he decided to force his flaccid dick into her nasty ass; I knew this boy has sank into the sunken place.
After a tame rape scene (hey if this show wants to be edgy, I can edgy as well lol) which i've seen far worse from your avid ugly bastard NTR doujinsh. You would expect him to go on his way, but NOPE he brainwashes the bitch; forcing her into slavery...
And you expect me to root for this guy? At that point Keyura became irredeemable in my eyes. Now you would expect me to say something cliché like "I'll be cheering for his defeat", NO! This isn't no death note folks; everyone sucks donkey ass in this show.
Now I know the main counterclaim is that Redo of healer is a "dark mature" story of a boy enacting justifiable revenge on his wrongdoers. That argument all falls apart when you label this show as "mature". See there are thousands of stories that handle the concept of revenge FAR better than Redo of healer.
Such as: berserk, vinland saga, and cowboy bebop. All portray their own unique take on the path of revenge, displaying the consequences and tribulations that follow this journey. Never is revenge played off as some cheap lust for power, nor do they have the protagonist take pleasure in causing great distress to their antagonist. While Redo Of Healer feels like the authors way of expressing his sick dreams to the public!

However, even after all that criticism, I will continue to happily consume this show! Hey, I never said I DISLIKED the show lol. Don't get me wrong, Redo of healer is pure horse shit but it's the GOOD type of shit...
