I would've liked for Yamato to join, but I didn't feel too strongly about it. Which is good, because otherwise I'd be mad about how stupid the reason behind Yamato not joining is. I mean, logically it makes sense, because the people of Wano do need someone who is YC level because as it stands a few vice admirals could sweep the damn place. But, first of all it sucks that Wano is this weak. And second, why did Oda bother spending all that time shoving "Yamato wants to join" in our faces. So we end up in a situation where the resolution is "Yamato wants to join and everybody's cool with that, but Yamato has to stay in Wano because the samurai are fodder and Momo is a pussy and the "ill explore it like Oden did" thing feels like cope" . Its such a poor resolution of their character arcs and if thats how its going to end then he should've written the character without the "go out to sea" motivation to begin with

In fact, her entire existence makes no sense to the plot. That wouldn't be so bad if Oda hadn't wasted so many pages on Yamato. It was a trollmove or last-minute change of mind.
The ridiculous attempts at explanation fit in with this. Denjiro, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi are about as strong as Jack. Also, Momonosuke would probably only need to train for two weeks for him to be a serious threat to invaders as a dragon. It is a poorly constructed argument that Yamato is imperative as a Guardian.
