I wanted to debunk some of the factual inaccuracies in your post at first but alas, I don't think it would contribute much to this thread.
I'm not here to talk down someone's beliefs. Those whose religion / beliefs lead to them doing good provide more for society than those who know all the scientific facts but use them in unethical ways.
When you start realizing that he's removing the terminology he uses from their anthropological/historical context and instead treating them allegorically... more power to you
@CoC: Color of Clowns
At least you're not a nihilist like my fave mod over there
Spirituality needs to be held to a rigorous scientific standard, if you want to challenge anything in the post, feel free to.
Modern science/post modernism is ridiculous in its desire to never be challenged, while still pretending it cares for the scientific process.
My greatest frustration with modern religion is how it attacks science, and my greatest frustration with modern science is how science attacks spirituality.
The reason I respect the teachings of Ancient Civilizations over our own in a lot of cases, is A: We've been misled about those civilizations in the first place, B: We often ignore the allegory in these ideologies is used to bridge science and spirituality, our ancestors wanted to use science to explain why life existed, C: It is arrogant to assume you are greater than those that came before.
What I respect about Oda is he approaches history from the concept of, "These people were trying to be honest, but were flawed."
So much of history automatically assumes are ancestors were completely incorrect/foolish, which is ridiculous when you consider their archeological achievements compared to ours. The pyramids themselves are proof are civilization is lesser, even without getting into ancient advanced technology.

How intelligent do you have to be to even design something this scientifically impressive, that still harmonizes with nature by imitating a bird call?
I guess this is why I always loved Skypiea/Shandoria, the mix of nature/technology, of spirituality/science, is so fascinating to me.
It's arrogant and racist to assume we have surpassed those that came before us, whether they were human, or others, when so much evidence proves we're just sucking off our own egos/the egos of those who rewrote history for their own purposes.
Wyper is one of the underrated characters in the series, I love that dude so much.
