General & Others Rewriting Onigashima’s fights

If I could rewrite the fights in Onigashima, here’s what I’d do:

1. Chopper vs Page One: Oda teased that Usopp would fight P1, but then he shafted Usopp and had BM one shot P1 for no reason. I would have preferred that Usopp beat P1 over what happened in the manga, but I think Chopper vs P1 would have been even better since they’re both brute force fighters. Chopper also should awaken CoA during the fight

2. Nami vs Ulti: Just make the right better. Give at least one full chapter of Nami vs Ulti after Nami gets Zeus back. Also maybe have Nami unlock CoO during the fight

3. Franky vs Sasaki: Keep it mostly the same, but make Franky unlock CoA during the fight

4. Robin vs Black Maria: Keep mostly the same, but make Robin unlock CoA during the fight

5. Brook vs Who’s Who: Oda can still give us a little bit of Jinbe vs WsW, but have Jinbe jump into the ocean to rescue Luffy, leaving WsW unattended. Have Brook unlock CoO during the battle.

6. Inu vs Jack: Have Jack pull out Awakening in order to barely get the W over Inu. Inu still gets to do his attack where he impales Jack in the stomach, but Jack survives it because of his Awakening and good endurance. This wound will come into play later though.

7. Neko vs Perospero: Have Perospero create a candy dome around him and Neko. This would block out the moon, causing Neko to be forced out of Sulong. Perospero then beats Neko due to Neko being weakened

8. Carrot vs Perospero: Carrot saves Neko and finishes off the weakened Perospero

9. Usopp vs Jack: With Jack having beaten Inu, the mid trio, Chopper, and Nami being exhausted from their fights, Luffy and Jinbe out of Onigashima, Yamato being busy with Kaido, Kid and Law being busy with BM, Killer being busy with Hawkins, and Drake being busy with Apoo, no one is left to stop the All-Star Jack from ravaging through the samurai army. Usopp would start off this battle from a range, taking advantage of the fact that Jack has to be in CQC to do anything. Usopp would be bombarding Jack with ranged attacks, which would obviously be doing barely any damage, but would still be adding up over time to the already weakened Jack. Usopp would also be laying traps as Jack tries to approach him. During this segment of the battle, Usopp would be using his CoO to sense where Jack is going and stay one step ahead of him. However, it wouldn’t be enough. Jack would eventually catch up to Usopp. In one last desperate attempt, Usopp would try to use his ultimate attack against Jack (whatever it is) and aim for Jack’s weak spot, which is the area where Inu had stabbed Jack (since hitting someone hard where a serious wound is causes a lot of pain). In the process, Usopp would awaken CoA, giving his attack just enough extra strength to KO the already very tired Jack. Of course, Oda could make Jack as weakened as he needs to be for Usopp’s victory to be believable. Having defeated Jack (with a lot of help from Inu obviously), Oda would get to maintain Usopp’s gag of getting a much higher bounty than he deserves since he would be given credit for Jack’s defeat.

10. Jinbe vs Smoothie: After saving Luffy from drowning and bringing him to the shoreline, where the Heart Pirates and Kid Pirates will also be at, the Chanter finally makes it over the waterfall and arrives at the location where Luffy and Jinbe are at. Luffy is still unconscious, so Jinbe and the others must protect him from the BMPs. Jinbe has an epic water battle with Smoothie.

11. Heart Pirates and Kid Pirates vs other BMPs: Bepo takes on Snack (assuming that the anime is right about him being there), Heat and Wire take on Compote and Daifuku, and the others take on the various other ministers present on the Chanter. Once Luffy recovers, he has Adult Momo fly him back up to Onigashima, like in the manga.

12. Sanji vs Queen: Same as in the manga

13. Zoro vs King: Same as in the manga

14. Killer vs Hawkins: Same as in the manga

15. Drake and Apoo vs CP0: Let Drake beat Maha so that he actually gets a W, instead of having Izo beat Maha. Let Apoo beat Sunflower Mask Guy. Meanwhile, Mr. Go will be assassinating WsW, since it was mentioned earlier that they want WsW to die. He shows up after his men are beaten and KOs Drake while Apoo runs away.

16. The Scabbards: As mentioned earlier, I already had Inu and Neko losing their fights. I would honestly just remove Kiku and Kawamatsu from the story since they accomplished literally nothing. Raizo vs Fuku still happens. Kinemon vs Kanjuro still happens, but is an actual fight this time. Denjiro hunts down Orochi. Ashura Doji still sacrifices himself to save the other Scabbards.

17. Law and Kid vs Big Mom: Same as in the manga, but have these two also learn some form of advanced Haki during the arc so that their victory feels less forced. Maybe Law gets AdvCoO, which makes it easier to land hits with his hax DF, and Kid gets Adv CoA, which makes his attacks more powerful

18. Luffy vs Kaido: Same as in the manga

Quick, non-detailed overview.

Inuarashi versus Jack the Drought — Jack and Inuarashi fight but instead of Inuarashi getting the better of Jack with the moon, the All Star defeats Inuarashi with his hybrid form.

X Drake versus Zoan Queen the Plague — Queen the Plague displays laser abilities + brute force to beat down on X Drake
Marco the Phoenix versus King the Wildfire — More detailed exploration of their fight. showing Marco kicking King around and then hinting at King's Lunarian abilities with Marco commenting on King's durability then sudden bursts of speed.

Marco the Phoenix versus the All Stars — X Drake taps out and Marco proceeds to stall both King & Queen, siphoning off his flames from the Live Floor and making the Ice Oni more perilous again. Coincides with chapter 1022 as the end point.

All of these points being 1~ chapter each, with maybe the odd panel here or there before their fated chapter fight.

Yamato versus Jack the Drought — A two chapter fight where a base Yamato takes on a Hybrid Jack. Both are wounded from their battles and the fight explores their shared past together and ultimately Jack turning his back on Yamato for Kaido. This serves as Yamato cutting her ties to the Beast Pirates.

Wings versus All Stars — Pretty much just explore these fights more. Make the fights in total a volume themselves, I think that type of payoff for two of the most popular protagonists in the longest arc isn't unheard of.

Nami & Usopp versus Ulti & Page1 — Earlier in the fight, Usopp absorbs a headbutt from Ulti with an impact dial. And instead of each getting beaten by Linlin's literal best techniques, she swats them away cruelly which does injure them, but not beyond their fruits ability to recover from.

As the fight hits its end, Usopp blinds the Tobi Roppo and Nami's mirage tempo tricks them into attacking each other. Irritated and enraged, the siblings make one last strike for the Straw Hats. Usopp delivers the final blow via impact dial, knocking Page1 out. Nami uses Zeus to use wider spanning lightning that covers the entire room, KO'ing Ulti.

The ending fight itself only takes an extra chapter, but it'd be closer to 3~ with the running around. Also, make Sasaki / Who's Who's fights longer by an additional chapter.

Brook versus Daifuku — One chapter fight that occurs as the Tobi Roppo are taken out. After disengaging with Maria so Robin can finish her fight, Daifuku is on the call to capture Robin and Brook, Linlin still wanting Soul King for her collection. The fight has Brook being overpowered and flashbacks to his battles with Ryuma years ago, before he uses his soul powers to bypass the genie and attack Daifuku himself.

Killer versus Smoothie — Two chapter fight, starting with Smoothie trying to attack Kidd from behind, only for Killer to intercept her and push her back away from his captain. Fight explores exactly what Kidd stole from Tottoland, revealing that Smoothie's eye was irritably damaged by Kidd in that raid as well. Ends with Killer being juiced of his SMILE fruit then slicing Smoothie's sword and face.

Kidd & Law versus Charlotte Linlin (Round 1) — I'd give this what canon had up to Shock Willie. I feel like that was pretty good, I'd only make it a bit more interesting visually. Law keeps shambling Kidd and himself with junk that Kidd has floating around the battlefield, explaining how they're able to avoid Linlin's attacks. The fight partially ends with the supernova gassing themselves out as Linlin is breathing heavily, but the victor.

Hawkins & X Drake & Apoo versus Charlotte Linlin — 2 Chapter fight. I'd have the final three supernova intervene between Kidd & Law and Linlin, buying time for the others to regain their stamina. Law and Kidd insist they only need to hit Linlin with their final attacks to end this, so the three here buy them ten minutes. Hawkins boosts their abilities with his cards, Apoo uses his music to constantly throw Linlin off her footing as X Drake fights at the forefront. After the ten minutes, all three supernova are laying defeated at Linlin's feet and she's about to execute them before...

Kidd & Law versus Charlotte Linlin (Round 2) — Kidd intercepts Linlin's Acoc punch as Law shambles the fallen Supernova away. The first chapter of this fight ends with Puncture Willie. The second chapter has Law unable to move, exhausted, and Kidd fighting Linlin solo for the duration of the chapter. Linlin uses Misery and Kidd creates his electromagnetic cannon, blasting Misery apart with it before being able to send Linlin flying to Wano in a single follow up. shot.

Ussop&Nami vs Ulti&Page One: Just give them a normal fight, develop more of Zeus and Ussop CoO powers.

Franky vs Sasaki: I would love if had make Sasaki Kokoro son and Chimney father, they are very similar in everything, and would give more to the fight that was quite random and short.

Jinbei vs WsW: I'm ok with this fight, the only part i disliked was that is very short, and also how when WsW minions started to push Jinbei, Oda destroyed the tension with Tama power.

Law and Kid vs BM: make BM take more damange through the Arc, to make her weaker, because looked like she was to strong for them.

Luffy vs Kaido: Keep Luffy fruit being Gomu Goku, just make Nika powers be the awakening without the change in fruit name, also mix more Adv CoC with G5.


Robin, Sanji, Zoro, Killer, Inu, Neko and Raizo fights i would keep the same.

This is an interesting way things could've gone, without impacting the overall war to much. I think would've been just as functional and maybe even better. It's hard to create an alternative scenario while keeping some coherence chronologically-wise, but I did my best...

• WHILE THE SCABBARDS WERE FIGHTING KAIDO (UP TO CHAPTER 1000) - STAGE 1

Nami & Usopp, hunted by Ulti & Page One, meet Heat & Wire in the bath tub. They decide to team up and fight the dinosaurs. Nami, Usopp, Heat & Wire vs Ulti & Page One starts.

- Sanji ends up trapped by Black Maria the same way it canonically happened, on the 3rd Floor. Jinbe lets Luffy go ahead by fighting a large amount of Headliners inside the castle.

- Perospero starts fighting Sulong Wanda & Sulong Carrot. Jack is KOed by the Sulongs the same way it happened canonically and is left to rest.

- Brook meets Bepo and they decide to go looking for Perospero. Robin is running inside the castle.

- rake escapes from Queen, Hawkins & Who's Who and meets Killer on the Live Floor. Who's Who gets on the Live Floor to hunt Drake, Apoo is looking for some trouble with Killer. Drake & Killer decide to face Who's Who & Apoo on the Live Floor.

- Zoro starts a skirmish with King on the Live Floor, Queen runs HAVOC on the Alliance army.

- Luffy, Kidd & Law face Kaido & Linlin on the Rooftop. The Scabbards were defeated and are out for the rest of the war.

• AFTER THE SCABBARDS DEFEAT (AFTER CHAPTER 1000, UP TO CHAPTER 1015/1020) - STAGE 2

- The skirmish between Zoro & King is interrupted by Marco. King vs Marco starts, Zoro is free to focus on reaching the Emperors.

- Killer defeats Apoo, Drake is still going at it with Who's Who. Killer sees Hawkins on the execution platform and decides to go for him.

- Sanji is freed by Robin. Robin vs Black Maria starts while Sanji goes back on his way.

- Nami & Usopp eventually end up defeating Ulti, same goes for Heat & Wire vs Page One. All the 4 of them head for the Live Floor to give some assistance.

- Perospero defeats Sulong Wanda & Carrot outside the dome. Brook & Bepo arrive to fight him, saving the Minks in the process.

- Jinbe has destroyed a large quantity of Headliners when Jack (medicated and rested) faces him.

- Luffy, Kidd & Law are being slowly pushed back by Kaido & Linlin on the Rooftop.

• (UP TO CHAPTER 1040) STAGE 3

- Drake finally defeats Who's Who, Apoo gets back up. Both of them are heavily injured but decide to team up and try to stop Queen who has still no opponent.

- Zoro reaches the Rooftop and joins the Captains, it's a 4v2 now. Killer starts fighting Hawkins.

- Robin defeats Black Maria. Franky defeats Sasaki.

- Outside the dome, Brook is temporarily incapaitated by Perospero's candy, Bepo goes Sulong and fights Perospero 1v1.

- Jinbe & Jack end up ouside the dome, near the forest's river. Here Jinbe has water.

- Marco vs King is still going on, they are practically equals and seem to be a stall. Queen finally puts down both Drake & Apoo but reports injuries.

- Killer defeats Hawkins on the execution platform. Queen is now heading for Nami & Usopp on the Live Floor but Sanji comes in and saves them.

- Sulong Bepo nearly defeats Perospero but faints cause of the Sulong effect being to much for him, Brook stands up and takes his place, finishing Perospero with one last hit.

- The battle of the Emperors split: Kidd & Law move Linlin at the entrance of Onigashima (near Bepo & Brook), Luffy & Zoro keep Kaido on the Rooftop.

• UP TO CHAPTER 1050/1055 (STAGE 4)

- Jinbe finally defeats Jack. Robin is being chased by CP0 and heads for the Live Floor.

- Kidd & Law vs Linlin goes on on the Entrance. Same for Luffy & Zoro vs Kaido on the Rooftop. Marco vs King is still going on.

- Sanji vs Queen moves in the Red Light District. All the rest of the SHs reunite on the Live Floor with Kidd Pirates & Heart Pirates to fight the Beast Pirates Army that is still outnumbering them.

- Yamato (who has been protecting Momo all the time and defeated 1/5th of Kaido's army) joins Luffy & Zoro against Kaido. Killer joins Kidd & Law against Linlin.

- Robin reaches the Live Floor right before beig caught by CP0, they value if it is wise to face the alliance who seem to be having the upper hand.

- Yamato uses her last energies to land a dangerous hit on Kaido, same does Killer with Linlin. They both collapse after it.

- Sanji finally defeats Queen and collapses. CP0 decides to still go for Robin but at that moment Jinbe appears on the Live Floor and Drake gets back up. They are both heavily injured but CP0 decides that all that manpower is to much for them and retire.

- Zoro uses his last energies to land a really dangerous hit on Kaido, same does Law with Linlin. They both collapse after it and Luffy & Kidd are left alone against Kaido & Linlin.

- Marco finally defeats King and collapses right after. The Alliance (SHs, KPs, HPs & co) keep pushing back the enemies even if they are slowly being overpowered.

- Luffy defeats Kaido on the Rooftop, Kidd defeats Linlin at the Entrance. They both collapse after it and their victory is announced to everybody in Onigashima, leaving the enemy army to surrounder.

I will rewrite the fights not in their specific matchups but more likely what each Strawhat/Alliance member should have done.

Usopp

Usopp should have slowed down and handled Numbers with the help of samurai army. He attacking them from far and unknown locations showing his CoO that awakened at Dressrosa is really helping him in fights. At any point in this fight he would notice that samurais are too weak to beat any Number and would get got and get hurt badly by one. Then he would awakeCoA(Ryou more specifically) and would start to use with his weapons making serious damages to Numbers(a new attack that is not creating plants).

Nami

Since WCI I thought that Nami endgame arsenal to be complete should be Zeus and Prometheus at full power, not that shitty version of Zeus. Hell Oda, why can't let Nami be OP? Is not like she could 1v1 Kaido with that. Or even any YC. But she getting Zeus back from Big Mom(or not even losing him at first, why Big Mom stayed all that time without Zeus? Why she didn't created Hera earlier?) she would have a chance against Ulti. Ulti tanked a lot of damage from Zeus(full power) and Big Mom(a lot stronger than Zeus) so she would still have the advantage and win against Nami with only that. But then if Nami gets Prometheus by showing him how Zeus is well treated by her, she would have at least 50% chance of winning. She would have the power to win but would need to b smart for that. Hell Oda why you forgot that Nami is one of the smartest Strawhats and made her "win" over Ulti by raw power instead of intelligence?

Chopper

He would be a fighter. A relevant one. Not Queen's personal masseuse. Since Sanji most likely win over P1 before Onigashima he would tell Chopper everything he should know about P1 and believe he would be capable of winning. Unlike a lot of FAKE SANJI FANS says that Sanji believed in Usopp to do it, which makes no sense, Chopper actually has a chance of winning. An extremelly diff fight, where Chopper go Monster Point first and barely damages P1 then he switches between all his forms, specially bringing back Brain Point to found P1 weak spot. Going Monster Point once more to do some damage at that spot but not enough to beat him. Get wracked by P1 and then awakens CoA and focus on his weak spot with it to win.

Robin

Robin fight with Black Maria was just bad because of her out of nowhere transformation. Simply having her saying that she is awakened would made that fight 10/10 instead of the current 5/10(or less). Or having her also awakening CoA would be good but since this arc is also a lot about DF awakening and we would already have Chopper and Usopp awakening CoA she would fit better to awaken her DF only.

Brook

Since everybody but Usopp is having their Tobiroppo fight, Brook also should have. Although I would like Who's Who to be YC level the reality is that Oda made him a joke. Jimbei was an overkill to WsW so Brook could have a extreme diff fight with him and won. Brook with his Ice abilities and WsW being an Ancient Zoan from Ice Age would be enough parallell for that fight although WsW already being stronger than Brook and resistant to his ability would make way harder scenario for him. This would be a perfect fight for Brook awaken both CoO and CoA and maybe using some technique that Zoro may have taught him at anypoint in New World.

Franky

Franky fight against Sasaki was great. I would just remove that Helicopter Bullshit and have Franky landing some more lasers. But I think would be a lot better him using an attack from Zoro that he may possible have saw in the past. Or at least tried to replicate that attack calling it another name. Don't think any haki would be relevant to him since he is fighting with Franky Shogun. Would be too hard for a newbie to use Ryou through his Cyborg Body and also through Franky Shogun body if that is even possible.

Scabbards

Scabbards fight was only horrible because Kaido was screaming like a bitch for no fucking reason. He gave us the false impression they were doing some relevant damage but they were not. Maybe Kaido not screaming by later attacks likes Law's fucking stones, Kid's WWE moves and Momonosuke bites would already make his fight better. But besides Boro Breath, Kaido seemed to be stopped just let himself getting hit. Make him evade some moves and fight back early on to give Scabbards some credit for doing the minimal damage to him.

Now a little different perspective from other fights. These from the villain side.

Jack

Jack showed to be capable of handling any base Mink King in his animal form. Hybrid Form being stronger would be great if he gave both base Mink Kings a extreme diff fight. They already showed against Kaido what they could do with Sulong. They could defeat Jack working together, nice plot since they were fighting each other at Zou and fighting with other Scabbards too is not the same, and create an expectation for they using Sulong again later on.

Queen

As I always said Jinbei is perfectly fine to be Queen's opponent and win over him in a extreme diff fight. Save Judge boring lore for after fight. Queen being a slaver or something near that is enough parallel for having Jinbei fight him. Jinbei already knows CoO and CoA so having an extreme diff fight would be perfect for unlocking internal damage.

King

Let Sanji really shiny and if he has anything with Lunarian DNA say it now! If not is okay. Sanji already showed that his RS can tank King's attack so he is a match for him and he using the RS is good since he is putting his crew's needs over his own for the sake of his captain's dream. Way better development than what we got from him that destroyed his character. Even that the RS is resistant it is not undestructible and even that Sanji is faster he also has to discover King's tricky and somehow hit harder to beat him. Discover King's tricky wouldn't be hard for him he should actually discover this faster than Zoro did. But then King would notice that his attacks are too weak and he doesn't even bother go Flames On again making a difficult high speed battle for Sanji which he gets his RS destroyed at some parts.
Just like Jinbei this would be a good fight to learn Internal Damage and force King to use Flames On again and now also using his Fire attacks and they 2 fights to discover who has the hottest flames with Sanji winning at final clash landing a kick on King's face and burning his white hair.

Perospero

Since Oda is the king of fake deads I think would be great if Pedro actually shows up in his Sulong form saving Carrot and Wanda from Perospero and having his revenge 1v1 with him. Not sure if he has CoA or not, but if he doesn't then awaken too.

Marco, X-Drake, Hawkins and Apoo

Would be great if the rest of Big Mom Pirates actually come up at some point and take a role at the war.
First let me go back a little, we would still have Queen's Frozen Plague plot after Chopper fight. But Apoo would have the FAKE medicine which Chopper would fail to cure everybody but we still have time. Only after Queen be defeated Jinbei would get the real medicine and save everybody.
After that, BMP coming win enraged after seeing Perospero is defeated(they defeated the Minks on their way to high up the stakes, including the Kings). Marco would fight Katakuri(would be great if he shows up) and X-Drake would fight Smoothie. Apoo after seeing a lot of his crew being defeated finally decide to switch sides. Hawkins after recalculate his chances decides to switch too. They both fights Oven and Daifuku.

Orochi

I would really love to see Toki here. I don't remember manga being clear about her death. But if not her then Hiyori using Enma(without that bullshit nerfing plot) to defeat Orochi on her own. Either Toki or Hiyori trained swordsmanship for those 20 years to revenge Oden and her country.

The Ninja Fight

Really... Just use a bunch of cool ninjusts. Copy Naruto shit. I don't care. Anything is better of what we got.

Yonko Fight

Beginning with Supernova vs Yonko fight. We would have Luffy damaging Kaido but without the impression that he made so much damage as we got. Then having him half evade but also blocked Kaido's attack instead of getting half hit in the head. Then having him saying something about Kaido's attack having a strange haki(CoC coating foreshadow). Kaido goes Dragon Form.

Now is Kid's turn to show how he is still useless to do minimal damage to Kaido so he decides to focus only on Big Mom.

Law is taking his time, help them to evade some attacks waiting for an opening to hit any Yonko with his internal damage attacks, usually after one of them attack and usually Kaido.

Killer and Zoro also go for Kaido since he is near and Big Mom is doing something similar to Law. Both are able to do minimal damage just like Scabbards. Zoro is with Shusui instead of Enma so no bullshit plot of haki nerf. Zoro showed he is capable to save anyone from Kaido's Boro Breath and the weakest hurricane but not from the strongest hurricane. Killer is able to hurt Kaido more with his sounds cuts but after his first attack he never have an oppening again and then he joins Kid focusing on Big Mom.

So the fight is like 2.5v1 for each Yonko with Law helping both fights.

Luffy decides to use G4. He starts with Boudman having one first clean hit on Kaido but then Kaido dodges all his upcoming attacks(we would be sure he is using internal damage with G4). Then Luffy changes to Snakeman and surprises Kaido with his speed lading several clean hits and creating an opening to Law use Gamma Knife and Zoro aiming his neck, but again minimal damage not going deep enough. Kaido goes Hybrid form.

Kid uses his Megazord against Big Mom that is easily destroyed by her Elbaf Spear. Kid then uses his DF to pull Napoleon from her. Killer takes the opening to land some sounds attacks on her hurting her badly. Big Mom tries to catch Killer that evades jumping back but when he is on air she uses Hera to hit him. Kid gets distracted seeing his partner hurt and gets attacked by Big Mom new Fire homie(since Zeus e Prometheus is now with Nami). They tank the damage and act like it was nothing but in their thoughts they know they can't keep tanking those kind of damage. Kid uses Napoleon to hit Big Mom and she attacks Napoleon with her CoC coating punch and gets her soul back saying he is useless since he is controlled by Kid's DF.

Back to Kaido, now in his Hybrid Form he is fast enough to dodge Snakeman and says he also has FS. He land a clean hit on Luffy's stomach that send him flying until he hits and break a wall. Now it is Zoro turn, Kaido does the same but Zoro tries to block and gets overpowered. Kaido calls Law coward and shows and intend to do the same with him but Law teleports without Kaido even move and Law can't be seeing. Big Mom uses her CoC coating against Kid and Killer doing the same Kaido did with Luffy and Zoro.

Now the 4 Supernova are side by side. Luffy back in his base form but without his drawback talks to them that Kaido is somehow using Conqueros Haki on his attacks. Kid says that he felt the same about Big Mom. Luffy screams for everybody run. The 2 Yonko side by side prepare to land Hakai. Zoro says that if is true they are use Conqueror Haki on attacks so they can use it too and steps up to block Hakai. His 3 blades are just like chapter 1035 showing his CoC coating. He blocks Hakai long enough for the 3 other Supernova disappear. Law shambles him to save him. Yonkos can only see where Zoro and Law are and ask if the others were destroyed by their attack.

First is Killer sneak attack on Big Mom with his sound again. Kaido tried to warning Big Mom and gets distracted so Luffy lands a punch with CoC coating. The damage is what big and now Big Mom gets distracted by it. Kid now do the same with her. Law teleports near Kaido and use Gamma Knife on him once more saying that he is a strategist and not a coward.

Kaido laughs on Law saying he doesn't know where the heart of Dragons is and have a clean attack on him sending him flying to the wall(Law use his curtain to block some damage). Big Mom once again try to gets Killer which jumps back, but she uses her own life to get bigger and stronger(calling it awakening) managing to grab him smack into the ground and landing a powerful hit, Killer laughs because of Smile but has blood coming out of his mouth. Then Kid and Big Mom has a CoC clash(without sky split) which Kid is overpowered, grabbed but Big Mom punches him in the air trying to make him fall off the island.
While that Kaido and Luffy(Base) are also have a CoC clash with Luffy being overpowered by Kaido, when Kaido goes for a second attack Yamato shows up after saving Kid from the fall and clash with Kaido making the sky split.

Now we have Killer and Kid fighting Big Mom which Law decides to help them since he can't attack Kaido effectively. Luffy and Yamato are fighting Kaido. Zoro was told by Law to recover and wait for an opening to cut Kaido's neck unless his presence is necessary to the fight.

During fights both Law and Kid awakens to beat Big Mom with Killer helping them. Luffy and Yamato pushes Kaido to his awakening and then both Luffy and Yamato awakens after getting overpowered by Kaido's awakening. At the end Kaido gets distracted by Big Mom losing, Luffy and Yamato grabs Kaido by each side then Zoro shows up having a clean cut through Kaido's neck with his Flying Dragon Blaze move with CoC Coating using Shusui.

If I could rewrite the fights in Onigashima, here’s what I’d do:

1. Chopper vs Page One: Oda teased that Usopp would fight P1, but then he shafted Usopp and had BM one shot P1 for no reason. I would have preferred that Usopp beat P1 over what happened in the manga, but I think Chopper vs P1 would have been even better since they’re both brute force fighters. Chopper also should awaken CoA during the fight

2. Nami vs Ulti: Just make the right better. Give at least one full chapter of Nami vs Ulti after Nami gets Zeus back. Also maybe have Nami unlock CoO during the fight

3. Franky vs Sasaki: Keep it mostly the same, but make Franky unlock CoA during the fight

4. Robin vs Black Maria: Keep mostly the same, but make Robin unlock CoA during the fight

5. Brook vs Who’s Who: Oda can still give us a little bit of Jinbe vs WsW, but have Jinbe jump into the ocean to rescue Luffy, leaving WsW unattended. Have Brook unlock CoO during the battle.

6. Inu vs Jack: Have Jack pull out Awakening in order to barely get the W over Inu. Inu still gets to do his attack where he impales Jack in the stomach, but Jack survives it because of his Awakening and good endurance. This wound will come into play later though.

7. Neko vs Perospero: Have Perospero create a candy dome around him and Neko. This would block out the moon, causing Neko to be forced out of Sulong. Perospero then beats Neko due to Neko being weakened

8. Carrot vs Perospero: Carrot saves Neko and finishes off the weakened Perospero

9. Usopp vs Jack: With Jack having beaten Inu, the mid trio, Chopper, and Nami being exhausted from their fights, Luffy and Jinbe out of Onigashima, Yamato being busy with Kaido, Kid and Law being busy with BM, Killer being busy with Hawkins, and Drake being busy with Apoo, no one is left to stop the All-Star Jack from ravaging through the samurai army. Usopp would start off this battle from a range, taking advantage of the fact that Jack has to be in CQC to do anything. Usopp would be bombarding Jack with ranged attacks, which would obviously be doing barely any damage, but would still be adding up over time to the already weakened Jack. Usopp would also be laying traps as Jack tries to approach him. During this segment of the battle, Usopp would be using his CoO to sense where Jack is going and stay one step ahead of him. However, it wouldn’t be enough. Jack would eventually catch up to Usopp. In one last desperate attempt, Usopp would try to use his ultimate attack against Jack (whatever it is) and aim for Jack’s weak spot, which is the area where Inu had stabbed Jack (since hitting someone hard where a serious wound is causes a lot of pain). In the process, Usopp would awaken CoA, giving his attack just enough extra strength to KO the already very tired Jack. Of course, Oda could make Jack as weakened as he needs to be for Usopp’s victory to be believable. Having defeated Jack (with a lot of help from Inu obviously), Oda would get to maintain Usopp’s gag of getting a much higher bounty than he deserves since he would be given credit for Jack’s defeat.

10. Jinbe vs Smoothie: After saving Luffy from drowning and bringing him to the shoreline, where the Heart Pirates and Kid Pirates will also be at, the Chanter finally makes it over the waterfall and arrives at the location where Luffy and Jinbe are at. Luffy is still unconscious, so Jinbe and the others must protect him from the BMPs. Jinbe has an epic water battle with Smoothie.

11. Heart Pirates and Kid Pirates vs other BMPs: Bepo takes on Snack (assuming that the anime is right about him being there), Heat and Wire take on Compote and Daifuku, and the others take on the various other ministers present on the Chanter. Once Luffy recovers, he has Adult Momo fly him back up to Onigashima, like in the manga.

12. Sanji vs Queen: Same as in the manga

13. Zoro vs King: Same as in the manga

14. Killer vs Hawkins: Same as in the manga

15. Drake and Apoo vs CP0: Let Drake beat Maha so that he actually gets a W, instead of having Izo beat Maha. Let Apoo beat Sunflower Mask Guy. Meanwhile, Mr. Go will be assassinating WsW, since it was mentioned earlier that they want WsW to die. He shows up after his men are beaten and KOs Drake while Apoo runs away.

16. The Scabbards: As mentioned earlier, I already had Inu and Neko losing their fights. I would honestly just remove Kiku and Kawamatsu from the story since they accomplished literally nothing. Raizo vs Fuku still happens. Kinemon vs Kanjuro still happens, but is an actual fight this time. Denjiro hunts down Orochi. Ashura Doji still sacrifices himself to save the other Scabbards.

17. Law and Kid vs Big Mom: Same as in the manga, but have these two also learn some form of advanced Haki during the arc so that their victory feels less forced. Maybe Law gets AdvCoO, which makes it easier to land hits with his hax DF, and Kid gets Adv CoA, which makes his attacks more powerful

18. Luffy vs Kaido: Same as in the manga

I love this. Why tf does Oda give haki to half the fodders in the NW but not to SHs?

Give every member of the Flying Six, Calamities, and Kaido himself an awakening. They are among the four strongest crews with many of their members being far stronger than Jailer Beasts and Doffy; for none of them to be awakened is just stupid writing. The Strawhats struggle a lot more with their fights and maybe get some assistance from characters or Scabbards we met during the arc. By the end of their fight, they should be exhausted and nearly passed out. With Luffy vs. Kaido, Kaido should have got up and used an Awakening. They should have battled for a few more chapters with Luffy having the hax advantage and Kaido having the physical advantage. Eventually, the two both end up collapsing, exhausted. The Dawn begins to rise and Kaido laughs about finally meeting Joyboy before passing out. Then, everything else after that is the same.
