Kaido wanted to be Joyboy but failed. Then he defeated Luffy, and said he couldn't be Joyboy either. Then Luffy defeated him and in his final thoughts described Joyboy as the one able to defeat him. So, Kaido and King recognised Luffy as Joyboy.
King had his chance to stop Ryokugyu but couldn't. Now it's Kaido's turn.
Nobody in his right state of mind can really think Kaido is dead or that him and Big Mom will disappear like this from the story. He will be back
And what better way to reappear than saving Joyboy?
But after being defeated and floating for a week in lava, he shouldn't be strong enough to stop the admiral.
And Ryokugyu has a black blade
Kaido will be beheaded by Ryokugyu above the Flower Capital as it was supposed to be
