And he notable figure on Egghead arc so he is bound to get defeated if he get a fight regardless of anyone from SHP fighting him.
For the Shanks part, it was to show us that Kidd were not "Qualified" For being the frontrunners to get One Piece, that and gotta hype his golden boy Shanks.
It was bound to happen.
I would legit thinking they are gonna be the frontrunners if Oda gave them spotlights especially on Wano but his crew didn't had any spotlight.
Just like Law their crew didn't had any strong notable fighter, Killer and Bepo is there but they are not on Zoro and Sanji level if we being honest. And thats only their strongest capable fighter.
Kidd pirates is ruthless and evil for sure, they even infamous for attacking civilians and co. But the things that i always like about them, are they just like SHP, They view themselves as Family with such loyalty and respect, they would do anything for their friends, the scene where they laughing out loud with Killer is also a nice touch too from Toei.
