Yeah, there are a ton of adult fans of One Piece, Naruto, DBZ, and a bunch of other anime. That doesn't mean that the target demographic isn't kids. The genre is SHONEN. They are/were in SHONEN JUMP.

I forgot to mention but it is at source, the post at forum was from 2011 not sure about the survey. Those fans only got older.

I'm not saying your argument is invalid. There are tons of adult fans of one piece, but i'm just saying that due to the genre its in and the magazine it's published in it's a series directed at kids/teenagers. But I was also just saying that sensibilities regarding animation/comics are different over there too. Disregarding OP, Dragon Ball is absolutely a children's series over there, and it had people being killed on screen regularly, lots of blood, limbs being severed, and stuff like goku or bulma getting naked for whatever reason. None of that would ever fly on a kids show in the west is all I was saying. I'm not calling One Piece a series for kids as a negative, i'm literally just saying what it was made as.
