The big lingering mystery with God valley is “What made Rocks and Garp team up to defeat Rocks?”
The answer is easy, Rocks is going to do something that’s even worse than what Garp thinks of Roger and it’s going to be worse than what Roger thinks the Celestial Dragons are doing. (And as a bonus, what Rocks is going to do is going to be what leads to all the surviving Rocks pirates deciding never to talk about him again, something so bad that Whitebeard and Big mom denounce Rocks forever)
Rocks is going to start killing the children of the Celestial Dragons. God valley is a vacation for the celestial dragons, they bring their kids to watch them do genocide. Rocks is going to go on a Celestial Dragons killing spree that includes the children of the Celestial dragons. (This is going to include Shanks and Shamrock)
The reason for why Rocks goes on this murder spree doesn’t matter. By this I mean it doesn’t matter to Oda. Roger and Garp are the good guys so Oda is not going to present Rocks’ reasons for rampaging as good enough no matter what. (And as a bonus, child murder is probably the one thing that would make both Whitebeard and Big mom denounce Rocks given they’ve gone along with every other evil thing Rocks has done, these two specifically have affection for children)
Imagine whatever horrible thing is going to happen to lead to Rocks’ actions, Oda is going to have Roger and Garp hammer home one message, THE KIDS ARE INNOCENT, NO MATTER WHAT
And yes I know the celestial dragons are also going around killing slave children, they’ll all be disposed of too (including Garling) before Garp and Roger reach Rocks or Rocks will be unlucky and he’ll just be the one Roger and Garp find before they find Garling also killing kids for fun
(If you think this is too simplistic a reason for Garp and Roger then remember that this entire thing started because a woman was kidnapped and a 6 year old slave somehow managed to leak all this info, Oda is not above making the biggest event in the story so simple, Oda loves kids, he made Luffy’s birthday Japan’s Children’s day)
