I mean Oda had to somehow justify why none of the rocks pirates talk much about him apart from in passing terms. He couldn't just say it was all bad because some of them stuck around for 10 plus years and he showed xebec not really forcing anyone to stick with him.

This is the route he chose to justify the why lol. Thematically it makes sense(knowing rocks's story is all tragedy) but other characters needed to be dumbed down for this to happen.

if oda goes the way of those 3 hating rocks because of this, they are the biggest retards in this manga so far.

rocks is literally sprouting wings and fangs and glowing eyes. surely the rocks they knew didn't have the ability to do that. Also, they all saw rocks go up against and get stabbed by the evil super boss like creature and the creature talking about making rocks kill his own family.

if even wb believes rocks turned on them out of nowhere...

Big Mom and Kaido are Rocks’s number 5 and 6, optimistically. They are just trash he can casually one shot while nerfed.
