Speculations Roger proclaimed to Mihawk the world strongest swordsman

Comprehension is difficult for some.
Misunderstanding is also a thing.
And I don’t know exactly the correct dates, but 20 years ago and longer we don't know who had what for titles etc, that's irrelevant so far atm until Oda discloses that info.
Mihawk was mostly likely not the WSS 20 years ago and I doubt he was 10ish years ago either.
Roger was dead and gone and Mihawk and Shanks were having duels that were called Legendary.

Think that the main misconception about this WSS thing is that it is a tittle that someone give to Mihawk, its more like a epithet that people started to call him the more famous he become and the more impressive the duels he take part were.

Don know if in english the words "tittle" "epithet" and "nickname" have the same meaning. But seems that in some things the translation from japanese to english have a lack of words, that made hard for english only speakers to cach what is being said, its kind of like the same that happen when they translate bushi/samurai to swordsman in some mangas for lack of better words. For example, here in Brazil the official version use the world "alcunha", from the Arab "al-kunya", that dont have a english translation, to Mihawk "World Greatest Swordsman" and use "titulo", that means tittle, for his official tittle as one of the "Seven Privatieers of the Royalty" and "epíteto", that means epithet, for the "Hawk Eyes", and the three words have very different meanings, in the Spanish version is kind the same, so seems that this ideia that someone has given Mihawk a tittle of "World Greatest Swordsman" seems to exist only between the english readers of he manga.

But for some people u cant say anything about bad translations and this things they will not care, because they read the manga just to make powerscales and headcanons

there are a lot of theory about why mihawk is the wss the more of there they say than marine/government give him this title but this doesn't have sense because if they can do garp would have been the wsm and kizaru (an admiral who use a light sword) the wss so it's very clear than these title is due the famous and mihawk was famous before he fought agaisnt shanks.
So what did mihawk do to gain his famous and become the wss? the answer it's the mihawk challenged Roger in the past and Roger said than he never has fought agaisnt a swordman stronger.
That explain why shanks wanted to defeat him and the reason than zoro won't be wss if he can't defeat him

iirc Oda said that Mihawk made his way through the ranks by beating different swordsmen until he reached the peak and no swordsman could stop him. But Roger has no business in this, Mihawk is around the same age of Shanks who was a cabin boy back in Roger's says.
I'm pretty sure that during that time Mihawk was starting his fights to claim his title.
No way Mihawks at that age pushed Roger over laugh-diff.

Mihawk most likely acknowledged Zoro's potential and notwithstanding such notion still decided to train him, without caring for the consequences enough. What a true honorable man the Grandgrandmaster is.
he trained zoro because there aren't any can defeat him (shanks and kaido too).
it's so hard to be strongest:josad::josad::josad:

His portrayal is so much better than Kaido's so far. Made my case so many times on that I could simply very easily copy past. :goyea:
Nah........that is false............even if it turns out mihawk > kaido.........kaido has better portrayal so far.............

Im of the opinion that the former WSSM was an admiral and Mihawk killed him to get his title. Because honestly, Mihawk barely even seems like a pirate. So I need an explanation from Oda as to why exactly Mihawk became a pirate or what he did for the world government to classify him as a pirate.

I would believe Mihawk being WSS when he became Shichibukai because marine wanted to give the impression of having a great force working for them. But is really odd that they kept calling WB the World Strongest. Maybe only because of his DF?

Also, Mihawk's personality doesn't fit much someone that would work under the orders of WG/Marines.
