Powers & Abilities Roger's fighting style

I think Oda just hyped Mihawk so much when he showed Roger using a sword. Before it was just generic pirate stuff but Roger's first attack/battle on panel was a named attack from a named sword. Oda could have easily gone for the Luffy parallel with Roger and shown Roger using his fists to fight and being a haki monster but no. He doubled down on it by making Roger's sword a supreme grade sword and then named the sword Ace so we learn that Roger indeed had some deep bond with his sword to name his son after it. People have been overdosing on copium since then. The previous PK who most put as Top 1-3 ever is now a declared swordsman with a named supreme grade sword and named attacks. They fear how high Zoro's ceiling might be if he becomes the WSS ever (surpassing the likes of Ryuma, Mihawk, Kaido, WB and Roger), the very thought makes Zoro haters shit their pants.

You summed it up perfectly

Add this to the list and people still continue to underrate him.

following your logic
My logic was specifically for Roger who was never confirmed to be a swordsman and since he didnt fight using swordmanship/ sword style, then he's confirmed not a swordsman.
Denjiro and Ashura are confirmed as swordsman, and I'm betting Shiryu will too.

You have to be legit retarded after King said " using a sword doesn't make you a swordsman" and still say "omg he's using a sword so he's a swordsman."

Shanks was never stated to be a swordsman in the manga. He's the same as Roger, Kaido said he conquer the world with his haki, not his swordmanship.

It's only desperate swordcucks that want Mihawk to be Top tier so ofcourse youd want Shanks and Roger to be swordsmen.

You summed it up perfectly
And this is one of the reasons which makes me think that Mihawk might actually be the 2nd strongest 1v1 character because if Zoro fights anyone besides Mihawk EoS then the whole WSS thing is a fraud. The only one stronger would be Luffy's final opponent and when Luffy and Zoro defeat their EoS then they will become the new Top 2. Of course Oda can pull some Aizen like thing but I don't believe that will work. If Zoro defeats Mihawk EoS and prior to that Mihawk has not been established as the WSS ever at that point then Zoro cannot become WSS ever after defeating so Mihawk has to be stronger than any previous swordsman.

Can you provide some panels that Denjiro & Ashura are confirmed as swordsmen and what is their style ? I could bring up many more names but these two would be a good start if you can provide it.

King's attacks besides Imperial Flame iirc were only based on his DF. Shanks on the other hand not.

So the 1B bounty, or CoO killer etc arent canon because its not stated in the manga?

I've repeadtly said that i dont know about Roger fighting style neither i bet that he is a swordsman . Its defacto that MC number 2 would be toptier even if someone likes him or not.

OP makes a thread asking people their opinions regarding a topic then gets triggered when someone disagrees with his own opinion. Stop making stupid fucking threads if you can't respect the opinion of others when you ask for it.
When did i get triggered exactly ? I dont disagree at all about Roger's fighting style, for all we know he may be both swordsman and brawler, and didnt even talk bad to him for making excuses about one sword styles etc and calling people retarted like he did.

Was he only a swordsman ? IIRC everytime we saw him fight (which is little screentime) he was using only his sword. Against WB,Oden even in the panel of Rocks vs Garp & Roger flashback Roger seems like he's fighting with his sword. Is it possible that his fight style was only this and he was the previous WSS and PK at the same time ?
I’m afraid to cross the line of Mihawk over Roger until we know how strong they both are.

Hakiman defo.

Swordsmanship is his secondary style.

Oda sealed the deal Mihawk, no way Roger, Garp, Whitebeard are above Shanks, Mihawk , Dragon

If you have a devil fruit that provides a source of offense (Wb/Fujitora/Law) you're not a swordsman, else we'd see Zoro and Law rivaling each other or talking about swordsmanship. If you have 2 modes of fighting (sword/brawling) like King/Queen/Pica you're not a swordsman.

Everything other than what I listed can be considered a swordsman.
