Speculations Runic Magic

Runic Magic
Would you like to see Runic Magic at play in Elbaf? Runic Magic is somewhat interesting because it does not work as other magical applications do. It differs from other magical applications because it actively affects the world through runes instead of allowing for passive divination.

It's very common for runes to exist alongside other magic systems. Typically, runes are presented as a Boring, but Practical alternative form of magic; an individual rune may take a long time to inscribe and create, compared to quicker spellcasting, and they may not produce equally potent effects, but runes will also be portrayed as much safer and more reliable than other magic. This may be particularly emphasized when regular magic is already depicted as difficult to use and prone to dangerous failures. Runes also tend to be specialized for enhancing or altering the objects they are inscribed upon — you won't be able to shoot fireballs with runes, although you may be able to use them to create a Flaming Sword. - tvtropes.org

I'll list some notable points below.
- It is common for runes to exist alongside other magic systems. In other words, it is possible to have it integrate with the haki system.
- Runes may be portrayed as much safer and more reliable than other magic. This may be emphasized when regular magic is already shown to be difficult to use and prone to dangerous failures. Luffy uses forms that require high haki usage and and it is prone to the dangerous failure of it going out of control or causing him to be incapacitated if he does not achieve his goals in a limited time.
- It can let people do shit like make flaming swords

What do you think?

Care to discuss a few ways runes could enhance or alter the objects they are inscribed upon?
I think a strength multiplier, absorbing nutrients and powering someone up, a shield, there is a series of books about norse gods and demigods in our day named Magnus Chase and the gods of asgard whose main way of fighting is norse weapons and runes, also

@nik87 in the books there is a sword of summer that's pretty firey and has to do with Frey, a norse god who also has a rune, Zoro could use that sword with Kinemon's style if it's there,

Yes,

Yoru has a lot of runes.

Being WSS is all about borrowed power from magic swords.

:milaugh:

Anyways, why not? We already have dials and rope haki. Usopp needs a powerup.

Maybe Shanks is a runeman lol.

Don't think there'll be any magic. In op, dfs are the magic system. And haki to a lesser extent
Yeah but runes can be used by being engraved into stones, it could be like rare stones like fruits are,
