Fujitora probably didn’t want to fight back. Fujitora does not fight pointless battles. Ryokugyu probably attacked him and Fuji defended himself/ended the fight afterwards. If he would’ve fought back, Ryokugyu probably would’ve been injured as well.

to be fair we saw fuji 1 almost 1 week after the fight (before war on onigashima) but we see GB at least 2 week after the fight (few days after recovery of shs from onigashima war) if he get any injure he had more than enough time to recover and fight probably wasn't to the point of getting seriously injured GB probably attacked slaves and fuji was trying to block his attacks and save the slaves
