I still believe the Straw Hats are going back to Wano Act 4, when Blackbeard (and probably Cross Guild) go after Pluton.

Tama's relevance is the same as Yamato's (and Neku and Inu, possibly Carrot): to overcome the discrimination in Wano.

Oden, for all his flaws, wanted to make a country where people could freely exchange ideas, and where people from all over the world could come, but Wano still can't admit hunting down the Kurozumi were wrong, and that Kanjuro and Orochi would have never become the monsters they did if they hadn't been emotionally scarred at young ages by that "cleansing".

This connects straight back to Imu and the "Great Cleaning" mentioned alongside them. What Wano did to the Kurozumi is a smaller example of what happens all over the story: groups of people are blamed and villainized. Oda is showing us that the "good guys" aren't perfect. Wano IS FUCKED UP. That's the entire point.

Wano IS racist, and needs to change if it actually wants to stand against people like Aramaki and the Celestial Dragons, who worship prejudice. Yes, the WG is worse with their slaves, but, Oda is showing that Wano, and the Ancient Kingdom, also had this problem. The fear of the unknown, the fear of the "other" of other races like the Fishman, is what has caused all these problems. Wano isn't innocent.

Oda is setting up Wano, and the Ancient Kingdom, to have made the same mistakes as the WG. Kaido hated Wano, I believe, because he knew they had a history of discriminating against Oni. I think Wano did BAD things to the Oni race in the past.

Wano needs to open its borders by making it so that Yamato isn't discriminated for being an Oni, or Kaido's child. To make it so that Tama isn't discriminated and hunted because she's a Kurozumi. To make it so that people from other places and races are welcome, rather than nearly murdered like Neku, Inu, and Kawamatsu when they first arrived on Wano's shore.

That's why the end of the arc was frustrating, it was supposed to be. The people of Wano have learned nothing, and are doomed to repeat their failures. That's what Tama, a Kurozumi, Yamato, Kaido's child, and Momo, the Kokuzi Shogun, coming together means: Wano finally overcoming its xenophobia and discrimination.

So, Tama exists to prove that Wano needs to be woke.
:araboss:
Several things:

1. Kurozumi is still a Wanonese. Any discrimination by other Wanonese toward the Kurozumi family has nothing to do with racism, since it is not the race that is hated, but the bloodline. And there is no indication that the Kurozumis and other Wanonese are parts of a different race.

2. Wanonese know their savior is Joyboy, who is not Wanonese. I doubt racist people would be thankful to Joyboy like that.

3. Literally the people who matter in Wano (Momoron, Hiyori, and the scrubbards) have no problem having Yamato and Otama around. Because of this, I doubt their subservient citizens would even look at Yamato and Otama funny.

4. No way Teach is defeated in Wano. I can see him going down in Raftel, but not Wano, so your part about BB going after Pluton to Wano is a little iffy. And I'm pretty sure Croc is over trying to get Pluton.

5. At this point, isn't it more likely that Luffy returning to Wano to acquire Pluton simply be ceremonial after he is crowned the Pirate King?

6. Lastly, Wano's ending was frustrating because of the fact that Lolda is a fraud, not because Wano needs to be woke. Technically the whole One Piece world needs to be woke, not just Wano.

TLDR: Blackbeard's ancestor Sad Man/Moon was jealous, and betrayed Joy Boy/Sun. Sad Man used his Darkness powers to Eclipse Joy Boy's powers, allowing Im/Uranus and the Gorosei to defeat Joy Boy, and replace him as "Gods". Sad Man was then betrayed by Imu, and Rocks/Blackbeard want to get revenge on the World Government for denying them the God-hood they were promised.

Blackbeard is controlled by Sad Man, and Luffy will defeat Sad Man in order to free Blackbeard from his Ancestor's sins, making Blackbeard become Marshall D. Teach. The D clan, the Dawn tribe, will reunite, Joy Boy will forgive Sad Man for his betrayal, and they will stand together to defeat the false Gods who caused the Eclipse that created the Void Century: the century void of light.

The recent astrological/astronomical focus in One Piece made me realize (like many others) that if Luffy is the Sun, Blackbeard is most likely the Moon. While it's possible Imu could be the moon, since Imu seems to be connected to the Ancient Weapon Uranus, it's much more likely Imu serves as Uranus, with Shirahoshi being Neptune, and Momo being Pluto.

So, let's say Blackbeard is the Moon, and Luffy is the Sun. This sets up their rivalry perfectly, and explains everything: the Moon eclipses the Sun. In some mythology, this is because the Moon WAS JEALOUS of the Sun's light, and wished for people to only look upon it. The Moon can only shine through the Sun's light, after all. Without the Sun, it is what? Darkness.

Before The Dawn, there was The Eclipse. This is how Imu and the WG gained power: the Sun was weakened/Eclipsed, by the Moon, making it so the rest of the planets (Imu + the Gorosei + the Ancient Weapons possibly) could overtake the Sun.

Blackbeard's Ancestor (I'll call him... Sad Man...) was jealous of Joy Boy, and his great power, even while working alongside him. He knew he could never shine as bright as the Sun, Joy Boy. Imu, seeing this jealousy, convinced Sad Man to betray Joy Boy, and offered him great power. However, Sad Man, after betraying Joy Boy, was also betrayed: Imu, knowing Sad Man could not be trusted, destroyed him as well.

That is the sin of Rocks' and Teach's bloodline, and why they wish to destroy the World Government: because they were betrayed by those they betrayed for. Rocks wanted to become King of the World, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WAS STOLEN FROM HIS FAMILY. Uranus/Imu promised Moon/Sad Man a place at the Gorosei's table, or, maybe, even an equal partnership. So, Sad Man used his powers of Darkness to "Eclipse" the Sun, Joy Boy, and his powers.

This is why the Final War is inevitable (Doflamingo is probably aware of a lot of this): Blackbeard's family is always going to want blood, for how they were betrayed, while the Ancient Kingdom/Joy Boy side wants to bring about the Dawn, leading to a three way between Uranus/Imu and the Planets/Gorosei, the Sun/Joy Boy, the Moon/Sad Man, with the Ancient Weapons being used as pieces to fight.

This betrayal with Blackeard also ties directly back to Orochi in Wano. Orochi couldn't shine as bright as Oden, so, he eclipsed him. But, no matter how much he tried, Orochi could only shine by stealing Oden's light: even Orcohi's own propaganda involved him using Oden's Two Sword Style. Eventually, Orochi was betrayed by the man he betrayed Oden with: Kaido. So, then, Orochi tried to backstab Kaido as well with the fire. This has all happened before.

However, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, Luffy will break the cycle, BY REDEEMING BLACKBEARD and making him an ally. Luffy is the one who STOPS these cycles of revenge and violence. Luffy freed Wano, by making a Kurozumi like Tama befriend a Kozuki like Momo, by making Yamato accepted as a defender of Wano, rather than hated as Kaido's child.

Nothing will change if Luffy tries to kill Blackbeard, once realizing why he is the way he is (I fully expect Rocks/Sad Man to also be controlling Blackbeard on some level). Luffy has to beat Rocks/Sad Man, to SAVE Blackbeard from that fate. That is why Blackbeard cries when he looks at the moon. It's not only his home on some level probably, connected to the Ancient Kingdom, but he is cursed to always be Eclipsed by not only Joy Boy, but his own Ancestors' sins.

:crybeard:

Luffy will free Blackbeard from his past: and he, instead, will become Marshall D. Teach, the man who will overcome his Ancestor's betrayal, and help Joy Boy, the King of the Pirates, defeat Imu, Uranus, the false God who Eclipsed the Sun during the Void Century: the century void of light. The century of darkness. The century where the Sun was killed, and replaced.

The Dawn will only come when the clan of D(awn) reunites. When the Sun and Moon are in harmony again.

(One more fun fact: the reason the astronomical model of the solar system in the Library of Ohara is revolving around the planet they live on, not the sun, is because the sun is not viewed as the center of the solar system, the earth is. The WG doesn't want people thinking the world revolves around the sun, the Celestial Dragons want the world to believe that everything revolves around them, LOL)

Really a good theory. i prefer Sadboy than Sad man honestly Lol. However, what role Vivi's gonna be in?. cuz Imu seems interested in her (we have shown a panel where imu ripped up luffy, blackbeard and shirahoshi posters except Vivi. Everybody on that poster except Vivi and BB, already been confirmed to be "Legend being/thing". Luffy being a Sun god, Shirahoshi being a Poseidon, and BB most likely being a Moon God or something) So, What is Vivi?

If fat crackhead got a redeeming moment then it's a new low even for One Piece standards, and i'm positive that everyone wanking Teach wants his backstory to make him even more immoral than he already is because it's his defining trait.

Rather than being anti-hero, Teach could be an evolving threat that changes the conflict between Im and Luffy. Akin to Agent Smith in the Matrix trilogy where he grew so much in strength that machines (WG) sought Neo's (Luffy) help to stop.

Maybe Vivi is actually Uranus, and Imu is the earth? Alabasta, Wano, and Fishman Island have all these weird connective elements, and are some of the few cultures outside the Minks that have cultural aspects surviving from the Void Century.

Also, I want to say something I should have put in the main post: I DON'T think Blackbeard gets beaten until Laugh Tale.

I view the Final Arc in two parts:

1. Race to Laugh Tale that ends with Luffy vs Teach for One Piece/King of the Pirates
2. Luffy and the world vs Imu/the WG to free the world

No way Blackbeard gets taken out before Laugh Tale, I think Blackbeard will steal Pluton in Wano.

Not bad, I doubt about redeeming part, but it could be close to this.
