Nobody needs base CoC basically. Just oda showed sanjis determinatation for the first time. He was always at dilemma at the whole series abot in his character.

I don't know about CoC. Sanji can surpass Yamato without and all he needs to do is becoming kinda stronger honestly, he will likely not even have to solo GB if Yamato herself shall assist the man.
