I don’t think One Piece has a singular deuteragonist. For example Ace was the deuteragonist for Marineford, Law for Dressrosa, Sanji for WCI, Zoro for Wano, Usopp for Elbaf most likely, etc.

The cover shows the protagonists alongside their deuteragonist.
Asta and Yuno, Emma and Ray, Boruto and Sarada, Tanjiro and Nezuko, Deku and Bakugo..
And Luffy and Sanji.
People who claimed that Original Trio was more important than Sanji got debunked by Oda.

What zoro is To Luffy. a Buttler, sidekick, an assistant..

What Sanji is to Luffy, a very valuable person inthe group, ,

In terms of actual screentime in the story, I am pretty confident both Sanji and Nami are above Zoro.
Of course Zorotards dont actually care about character or character development, so that doesnt really matter to them

We can see that sanji is showing 4 fingers in that panel which clearly correlates to his ranking in the crew.

It was just something Jump did having all the main bad guys at the time on the front cover. We were in Dressrosa, so Doffy went on the OP bit.

The Sanji one was also just cause we were in the middle of WCI.

Let's be honest, if there was a Shonen Jump cover with all the mcs and the secondary characters with zoro instead of sanji... Y'all be like "Wow the goats " "Where is sanji " etc...
But when it's sanji, even if it's during the WCI arc, y'all trying to ignore it as much as you can and make fun of it by showing a post with doflamingo with sasuke when really it doesn't adress the deueragonist thing, what I call damage control...

He is a deuteragonist as much as zoro (in a narative perspective since he has way more plotlines related to him in the story than any other character besides luffy)... The real question is Nami was in that arc, I mean WCI, and she accompined luffy as his right hand there, where is she in the cover

You called it damage control, but the jump cover featuring Doflamingo is "Heroes vs Rivals". I'd say there are much better examples of rivals than Doffy in the story. Is this unrelated to hit happening during Dressrosa arc?
