Character Discussion Sanji's Behaviour in Whole Cake Island

Sanji is not only ungrateful bastard who attacked Luffy who came to save his damsel ass.
He is also a heartless bastard, he kicked and KOed the shit out of Luffy who just finished 11 long hours fight against Cracker. So much for "Sanji being kind" joke.

Sanji challenged luffy to a duel and Luffy accepted.

Sanji wanted to cut ties to the crew to ensure none of them got hurt if he failed to break off this wedding.

Luffy not fighting back was his choice. And it was because Luffy knew the pain that he was feeling is not as bad as how much it hurt Sanji to do it.

And why he did it? Because it’s literally the same thing Usopp did when he was leaving the crew. And Luffy accepted Usopps leaving, so Sanji had no reason to think Luffy wouldn’t accept sanjis.

It’s like people forget that Luffy himself said it was a duel between the two of them. It doesn’t matter that Luffy wasn’t fighting back because Luffy already accepted that it was a fight between men.

It was all written out in black and white.

sigh..... the mental gymnastics people go through to defend Oda always surprises me. To equate Sanji vs Luffy to that of Usopp vs Luffy is blasphemy.

Sanji is complicated, reason Sanji lovers say he has more development.

He is emotionless. He grew in that arc, what he did is indeed very bad.

But not even Usopp was punished. Sanji will remember this for his whole life for sure.
