Character Discussion Sanji's Gag is getting old and played out.

The gag was cool initially pre-timeskip he wasn't over the top with his gag. Though ever since Fishman Island arc the gag has just been getting more annoying every time to the point his whole character is nothing but gag.

Chapter 1051: Sanji has no reaction to Yamato joining other than "Big Yes <3"

Is that all his character is? Someone joining the crew is a big deal he could at least make some more dialogue with a new member other than "Yes"

Even the black maria moment was dumb he could of just escaped easily but he chose to sit there because of his gag? The Robin moment was great though but that was the only good part of that situation.

What happened to serious sanji?

Sanji pretended to be serious in whole cake island when he beat up his own captain but in reality he was just sad.

Will Sanji and Luffy tell Zoro about this or is it just okay for Sanji to beat up his captain?

Sanjis character is 70% Gag 30% Chef

Gags are okay until they take over the entire character.

Imagine if Zoro was getting lost almost every chapter that would be stupid. or if Luffy stopped in the middle of every fight to eat meat.

Sanji is pretty cool when he's fighting though. Outside of his gag I like his character and his gag would actually be tolerable if he acted like a normal person shortly after it but most of the time he doesn't and he's just stuck in gag mode the majority of the arc.

The Queen vs Sanji fight and his powerup, lunarian lineage factor, his relationship with his family that was all great. His backstory was great too.

but Oda gets a bit too obnoxious with his gag at times. Can he have a normal reaction to situations like female joining the crew. He's the "left wing of the pirate king" he should speak like one.
