Powers & Abilities Sanji's Veau Shot

#1
I always thought since Alabasta at how Sanji's Veau Shot works. We saw two times (if I remember correctly) in which Sanji uses this technique.

One with Mr. 2, where it actually connects and hit Sanji's enemy. And one with Jabra in which the technique wasn't enough to break Jabra's tekkai.

Against Jabra (ignore Veau Vengeance translation):

Against Mr. 2

Why Veau Shot has this delayed effect on Bon Clay? This is the only one time in which this Sanji technique connected properly , and unfortunately Sanji used only two times (as far as I remember)

Is this delayed effect maybe some form of pre-haki? It's something that I can't understand, but Veau Shot always bugged me.

It’s part of the overall theme of Sanji vs Mr 2.

The first main chapter of Sanji vs Mr 2 is called 互角, which transkates generally as Equals, Stalemate, Evenly Matched, whatever
https://jisho.org/search/互角

Throughout the fight we see this with panels like these

Where the two are presented as perfect equals, their attacks are having the same effect, both getting sent flying, both takking about each other etc.

So the final hit is showing Sanji overcome this, and thus become > Mr 2.

We see the hit
We think it’s been the same as the others and that they are still equals
But actually, this time Sanji has overcome Mr 2, sent him flying

I'm glad the delayed effect thing wasn't repeated, was very surprising and a fitting end to one of Sanji's best fights and after a while would be a bit strange. The delayed effect just seemed like hype for the kick, as having enough force to defeat Mr 2 and propel him into the building in contrast to Mr 2's attack on Sanji simply temporarily downing him. I don't think it was haki, just Oda incorporating over-the-top results into a cool and enjoyable fight with a lot of passion involved in it.

Suspension effect. Very common in shounen. 2 characters standing there after landing blows then one fall down slowly.
Bu Bon didnt fall down, he crashed to a bulding nearby.
