I took Inspiration from many Threads but @Pantheos thread is interesting imo.

Roger’s mysterious illness , White lead disease , Sapphire scale leads to one thing World Govt aka Gorosei have blood in all of this .

So what was the agenda behind killing Ginny . It has to do with incident in God Valley and vengeance against Kuma . Kuma fled with 500 other survivors along with paw paw fruit.

Don’t you think World Govt would have kept an eye on such valuable fruit. We know WG indirectly had tabs on kaido through deals with Orochi . They definately had spies on him .

Same with Roger and Whitebeard mysteriously became Ill as well. This leads to me one of the Gorosei have ability to spread this incurable disease or perhaps Ancient disease .

When I read on Wikipedia about this ability it can spit Poison and bingo we have Saturn . Roger got this incurable disease when he was in God Valley after few years his health began to decline .

Why was Ginny killed ?

Ginny was mysteriously let go gives me there was possible CD falling love with her as suggested by @Pantheos . But it’s rare slaves to have babies with Celestial Dragon and I am sure Holy land forbids relation between commoner and CD . I am pretty sure Saturn tried to kill her immediately when he found out about it that’s why even Bonney has this disease . There is no way rare disease could randomly enter in Mariejoa it doesn’t make sense .

Story is also partly inspired from Real Pirate Annie Bonney the famous ruthless Pirate who was child of Maid and wealthy Lawyer when the family found out the family escape to Caribbean where she meet Calico Jack a pirate Buccnear and rest we know she became ruthless Pirate

I agree it would make the most sense dramatically if Roger and Whitebeard somehow ended up contracting their mystery diseases while on God Valley.

But, I'm not sure if the timeline actually lines up for that or not. It's a little weird. Mostly on Roger's side.

According to the modified timeline I've cobbled together from various sources like Artur and the wiki:
1480 (44 Years ago)-A 33 year old Roger tries to steal Shakky from the Kuja Pirates. Gloriosa is already in love with him. (c1156)

1484 (40 Years Ago)-A 37 year old Roger goes to Hachinosu to try to help Rayleigh win Shakky (C 1158)

1485 (39 Years Ago)-A 38 year old Roger fights Rocks (Chapter 1096). They first land on Lodestar and learn about one last island on the Grand Line. (Chapter 966) Shakky is kidnapped. (Chapter 1159)

1486 (38 Years Ago)-A 39 year old Roger fights at God Valley. Fighting Rocks and Garp and the God’s Knights. Rocks dies. Finds baby Shanks in a treasure chest. (Chapter 957, 999, 1095-1096). The “Age of Roger” begins. Roger gets injured and Scopper defends him, earning the epithet “Mountain Eater”. (Roger sneaks into Big Mom’s territory to steal a copy of her Road Poneglyph.) (Roger kills all of Squard’s crew, aka the guy who would go on to betray Whitebeard).

1496 (28 Years Ago)-A 49 year old Roger finds out he has a terminal illness. Crocus is recruited to help stabilize his illness. (Chapter 506)

1497 (27 Years Ago)-A 50 year old Roger re-enters the Grand Line to begin the search for the Poneglyphs he learned about on Lodestar. (Vivre Card). The Edd War occurs. Roger fights Shiki because Shiki wanted to know the location of the Ancient Weaons and Shiki ends up with a sterring wheel embedded in his head. (Chapter 0/Strong World).

1498 (26 Years Ago)-A 51 year old Roger clashes with Whitebeard for 3 days. Roger recruits Oden to help him decipher the Poneglyphs. Roger tells Whitebeard and Oden about his secret Dream. (Chapter 966). Crocus tells Roger he has one year left to live. They go to Skypiea, find one of the Poneglphs, and find out about the Ancient Weapon Poseidon. Befreind God Gan Fall (C 830). Roger go to Water 7 and meet Tom for the last time. Oden invites Cutty Flan/Franky to join them. Roger goes to Sabaody Archipelago and Roger and Oden hear Sea Kings with the Voice of All Things. Two “Kings” will come in the future. Roger finds the Road and Apology Poneglyphs on Fishman Island. Shyarly foresees the birth of the next mermaid princess. Roger finds another Road Poneglyph at Wano. Toki stays behind at Wano with her children as Roger and Oden continue onward. Roger reaches Zou and the final Road Poneglyph. Pedro wants to join but Roger refuses.

1499 (25 Years Ago)-Leaving a sick Buggy and Shanks behind, a 52 year old Roger finally reaches the final island and finds Joyboy’s Treasure. Roger learns the True History. They rename this island Laugh Tale. Roger becomes known as the Pirate King (C 967). The newspapers declare Roger the Pirate King, which is the first time he's heard the title (C 968). Roger realizes he was born too early as the Ancient Weapons haven’t been reborn yet. Roger Pirates disband. (C 968-969). Roger meets with Whitebeard one last time, tells him about the One Piece and the Will of D, complains about the “Gold” Roger nickname the World Government gave him (C 576)

1500 (24 Years Ago)-A 53 year old Roger impregnants Portgas D Rouge. (C 550). A sick Roger hands himself over to the Marines. Roger is executed at his hometown of Loguetown. (C 550) Shiki goes on a rampage and gets captured by Garp and sent to Impel Down. The Great Pirate Era begins. Tom is sentenced to death, but given a stay of 10 year to build his sea train and save Water 7’s economy.

1502 (22 Years Ago)-Portas/Gol D Ace is born, 2 years after Roger’s execution. Garp takes Ace in per Roger’s request. Ace gets left with Curly Dandan along with Luffy and Sabo.

So, if I got the timeline right, I don't think Roger learns he actually HAS a disease until 10 years AFTER God Valley is over. That'd be a VERY long incubation period for a disease. So, when you stop and think about it, I don't think the timeline works out.

But, God Valley is a year AFTER Roger was on Lodestar the first time and learned about the Poneglyphs. And he wouldn't actually make it to Laugh Tale until 13 years after God Valley is over. So, he likely didn't catch it on Laugh Tale or Lodestar either, which would both make sense as they're both "rare" islands.

Maybe he got the disease when he was injured and Scopper had to defend him, earning the "Mountain Eater" epithet? (Chapter 1139) He was around a lot of trees on that mountain. And One Piece has been linking some diseases to heavily forested areas. Likely due to the "tree fever" we saw back with Jaya and Noland. But, Senor Pink's wife also got her disease while she was in a heavily forested area, too. So, Oda might be cooking something with that.

With Whitebeard, I think his disease might be in some way linked to his Devil Fruit. Either all those tremors he kept using damaged his body a little bit at a time and it added up over the years. Or, every time he used his quake powers, he opened up fissures underground, and he released some sort of disease or poison locked away underground. Like with Amber Lead, which resulted from people mining a underground substance.

So, while it would be more exciting for Whitebeard and Roger to get their diseases here on God Valley in the middle of a big battle. I have to wonder if they're more linked to something happening underground, or with the trees, or both. Trees do get their nutrients from underground roots, so these two background plot elements could well be linked. When I stop to think about it a little more, I don't think it makes sense for both of them to get infected here. But, I could be wrong.

Actually spot on. If your disease takes over ten years to actually have effects and even then it still doesn't kill the character, you should call everything quits lmao. At that point you are better fighting your enemy directly.

Imu and the gorosei are immortal top tiers, decades are nothing to them. Saturn may have been weaker than most top tiers but he was certainly able to fight any of them for a while.

If the spider yokai is capable of spreading an incurable disease that starts taking its toll after a few years, it would be an incredible asset for Imu. It would mean Roger had a ticking bomb inside his body and the time to see the world, linking all dots together and gather a force strong enough to oppose Imu was severely restricted. The same may be happening to Luffy after Egghead
