I mean even boros as a character, Works only because of the setup had prior like the city destroying ep1 monsters served to validate the hype for saitama being able to one shot anything with that being validated again and again versus dsk,beast king,carnage kabuto and so on anyhow boros only works cause of those monsters, Him being able to tank saitama's attacks and knock him to moon would have zero meaning if this just a regular shounen where any joe can do things to the mc, What would the whole narrative of him having no challenge and life boring thing even mean if saitama also didt have that same struggle set up throughout the show
The show ends on a moral parallel to saitama in boros and as him finally find a real fight, Season 2 has numerous foes all whom have no relation to the main character whatsoever and all of whom are not able to be fully explored due to the limited run time of the season and the fact two main antagonists are getting focus at once not one
The ending is quite garbage aswell ending on a literal cliffhanger with no narrative meaning whatsoever like garou gets saved by phoenix man and show ends like what a garbage ending, No climax to any of the themes or characters presented in those episodes
