In many games i played or hosted the cult leader can appoint a new scrub to convert , such as the case in throne of lies
That's one thing. Being able to recruit in the Day is another. Any one of these things is really strong, it all combined feels like the deck is being stacked. But, well, it's only a theory. I can't back it up with flavour nor evidence in thread.

Several, yeah. Childe, a Fatui Harbinger, could have a win con requiring him to kill several characters like Andrius, for instance, because while he belongs to the enemy faction, he works mostly away from them. Then there are the Hillichurls, an indiginous race that are mostly the fodder of the series. To name but two.
I'm saying that I'm not convinced that the Cult is genuinely recruiting every single Day Phase. They might be, but that would strike me as absurdly powerful in that context, because Day recruit + recruit after leader death + strong flavour claims makes them very difficult to stop. Nigh on impossible, even.
yeah i was particularly questioning about indie flavoured characters since nat had such a wincon.

I still can't shake the feeling that we're missing something, though. A Cult, that can recruit after the main recruiter has been killed, can also recruit during the Day, bypassing the ability to stop it via blocks? It does not make sense to me. That seems too powerful. I know I tend to be overly conservative when it comes to theory crafting these role madness setups, but I'm not convinced it's as straightforward as it appears to be here.
We've been speculating that's where rolecrushes come in to deal with cult since rolecrush lasts a cycle and p much makes ppl generic

Also that's prolly why xlaw claimed vanilla back then and got shot for claiming vanilla lumine lol

Check and balances. They probably have a nerf on their cult size or power to make up for day convert

My thoughts/concerns exactly.

Can someone combile a list of flipped and claimed characters sorted by their elemental aspect? I'm going to be super busy until evening today, and maybe even beyond (family stuffs > going to dinner with housemates > umineko > ffxiv raids > sleep > work) so someone will need to pick up the slack in terms of pressing for and sorting claim information. If no one has in a few hours I'll do it myself, I guess.

Right, but we haven't seen a single recruited player flip. So by my count, the Cult should now be 3-4 strong, which is plenty sizeable given that we believe the Mafia group may have been only 3 strong.

but where did the night kill come from then? why would a townie shoot night raid? I mean, I wouldn't have at the very least..
Potentially bus driven? But I agree. As I said, I blocked Melkor Night 4, and several kills went off, so I'm operating under the assumption that there is at least one more Mafia player around. I included that because, my theory does not seem to hold a consensus just yet.
