How do you know when the conversion happened?

The message appearing at the end of the day implies that the conversion got processed at the end and not right away when the action was submitted. If it was the latter, I expect that the write-up would go up during the middle of the day.

But at the time Zem said it wasn’t mechanical and was just a feeling. Maybe they just didn’t want to say, but it doesn’t automatically prove that theory impossible.
