Regarding Wano, I haven't really felt much tension, even reading weekly and having to wait I don't really feel much tension. Onigashima is floating and heading towards the Flower Capital, but I don't give a shit about the people there. Do you think this is me being a bit of a sociopath? Idk man, I am really enjoying wano, the fights are awesome, the dialogue is great, but I just don't feel that sense of excitement. Obviously things can change, but yeah, this is how I feel at the moment.

This sense of danger/tension that is somewhat lacking is a common criticism I see about Wano and I would tend to agree. I have definitely felt more tension in other arcs. We'll have to see if by the end of the arc Oda has been able to add a comparable tension and sense of danger to that of other arcs (and I think that he has the tools to do so).

I am planning to do a complete re read of Wano to see how I feel about it and if some of my perceptions change, compared to a week to week reading.

Leaving this aspect of Wano aside and concentrating on it as a whole, I think that the simple hype and buildup behind this arc will leave many readers pretty satisfied anyway. Overall, I like Wano and I am pretty sure I will feel the same by the end of the arc.

It's difficult not to feel hyped about many of the things that have happened/are happening.

But, regardless of the direction Wano will ultimately take, Oda has already made certain choices/plots that haven't been great for me and that will always leave people speculating about how Wano could have been a better arc, had the author taken other directions.

Lol tension and stakes went out the damn window when Kaido nuked the SHP and didn’t singe a hair on their heads. He then proceeded to capture Luffy and this moment was played for laughs with retarded gag faces. Absolute clown ass writing.

it'll be a different impression.. if you read it as a whole without a we break.. you'll end up comprehending the theme better

Wano has no sense of danger, Wano feels more like a circus.

Even though I like Queen, Ulti, and Jack, I think the Beasts Pirates are underwhelming. The prisoner mine in Udon during Act 2 felt more like a training camp, and the entire raid/war during Act 3 has so far been a joke.

During this raid/war Oda has made things go even easier for the alliance by having a majority of the Beasts Pirates switch sides, you also have false tension like the Ice Oni virus and Oda trying to make us think that Hyogoro was going to die.

Before the raid even started the Straw Hats weren't taking the fight against two Yonko's seriously, also I was expecting more from King during Act 3 and so far he's been a huge disappointment.

I thought Wano the country that is being ruled over by Kaido and his crew would be a very dangerous place, but nope as I said before Wano feels more like a circus.
