Falling in love isn't an actual illness, you know. It's obviously meant for the empress to not leave the island.
They consider it as illness.

One of the first things Shakky ever does is treating Rayleigh as her husband
They're in open marriage.

Ray is into young girls and like to hook up for decades. He didn't even enter Shakky Bars for 3 years

Like why even hide that trivial information for 500 chapters? Why does Shakky being a former empress of Amazon Lilly need to be a mystery for? Lmfao! Oda, my guy, this guy must be high when he writes.
Because Frauda uses only one single trick when writing : HYPE
What ever he does, he feels obligated to hype it.

Silhouettes for characters nobody cares about (kamazou is an example)

Offscreen fights with over the top hype
(Akainu and Aokiji fought for 11 days wtf ?
Ace and Jimbei fought for 5 days, really ?
Kaido and BM fought for 3 days, yikes!)

Characters introduced as invincible only to meet other characters even invincibler than them three chapters later lmao

I won't continue cause it would take a 20 pages essay to point all the false hype of this manga.

It could have been good if it wasn't overused ad nauseum

Edit : I meant Kawamatsu instead of Kamazou

lol Kamazo is actually one of the few cases that actually worked tbh.

Silhouetted introduction --> Showcase (10 chapters later) --> Identity reveal (another 6/7 chapters later).

Also the silhouette worked in that case cause he was introduced as a ghost moving around the Capital at night and taking names.
With the silhouetted introduction Oda left us wondering if he was a possible ally or a possible enemy, good or bad. Then he made us think he was a plain evil hitman with the showcase, but really gave us the full picture with the identity reveal.
It happened in a span of less than 20 chapters and WORKES.

An example of useless silhouette is Kaido's hybrid form.

To make false fact is likely.
Like Ryofui in Kingdom but used another dead body actually.
Then in extreme way in the real world, someone so powerfull on politics can alter the data. E.g Mr X get spinal cord transplant & DNA Mr Y mix into Mr X. When Mr. X die, He can be proven as Mr Y too. So there is death certificate of Mr. Y, but actually Mr. X who died. While real Mr. Y is free out there. Blah blah blah...

What i get is Shakky status comeback might have to do with Amazon Lily future. But She & Ray have problem with their bounty if they want to let Hancock goes to Luffy, for e.g.

What's the point in sillouhetting if it has no pay off ?
Remind me what was Kamazou's pay off ?

Yes Kaido's hybrid silouhette is another cheap trick and there are numerous other examples...

Edit : I meant Kawamatsu

Kawamatsu had no pay off
Had some hype

But ended being a massive let down

I guess it made sense tho cause introducing Kidd just a few panels after him would have stolen all Kawamatsu scene...

Gloriosa had no reason to lie to hancock,It is a merely a fuck up.

Considering the text Shakky could easily have been the empress from 3 generations ago.

Over 3 generations= 4 and beyond.At least that's how I interpreted it.

If they don't fix it in the volume version it is a plothole, unless addresssed with a throwaway line in the manga itself.

Mistranslation by Viz
Unofficial one from way back has this one which fits perfectly with the storyline.
No,Stephen in his scripts(before he became a Viz translator) has the same translation.
- Page 205 -

Nyon: The former empress died of this illness...
And the one before her, as well...
In fact, I myself fled this country to survive when I was afflicted with it.
Princess, Monkey D. Luffy has come with me.
He seems to have a request of you. Will you hear him out?

Sandersonia: Grandmother Nyon! You can't do this when she's in such poor health!!

Best example of a useless silhouette is King's gimp suit.

Let's restructure the sentence: "three generations ago, your reign was over". This is how I understand it.
