Character Discussion Shanks Backstory

#1
With Sham being Shanks ditto copy (except the arms, longer hair and no scar) it pretty much solidifies imo the assumption that Shanks is a Figarland and son of Garling. Figarlands were from West Blue or some of those seas IIRC and probably one of the 20 original kingdoms.

Seriously not buying the clone theory, we saw kid Shanks in GV, which of the two would be the clone and why would CDs make a clone of either?
Which instances are the ones where people believe that it was Sham on screen instead of Shanks? I dont think the dialogue in Reverie suggest that it was Sham but that it was still Shanks meeting with the Gorosei. This would suggest that Shanks is fully aware of his status and add intrigue to the character and make sense of him being able to go and meet the Gorosei. There is no point of Sham being the one otherwise the whole shock and setting of the scene would be lost where a Yonko is meeting the Gorosei. This would also tie in with Shanks pursuing BB and anyway it would not make any sense for Sham to go to the Gorosei like that and talk about a pirate, he probably didnt even meet a pirate for most part of his life.

Shanks being a CD would be a secret to the world but not to the CDs since they have Sham to compare to, hey look, this pirate looks exactly like our leader (or 2nd in command) of the HKs, what are the chances that they are not related?

Powerscaling opinion I think Shanks is stronger than both his father and brother.

because if it was actually shanks then there was no reason to hide his hair, and there was no scar on his face
the pirate hes talking about is loki
if oda showed the hair it would have been too obvious it wasn't him
if it was actually shanks then oda would have just showed shanks as normal...everyone assumed it was shanks
him not being shanks IS the plotwist/shock

it just isnt much of a shock for you because the online op community is a minority, niche echo chamber which has people analysing every miniscule detail of every panel, so we were aware of the twin theory, so its mainstream for us. But wouldnt have even cross the mind of the average reader that he was not shanks. The majority of the fanbase will only have connected the dots after this chapter, and a lot probably cant even remember the scene in the first place, and oda wont assume that everyone will, so he will spell it out in a later chapter

Yes, there is no doubt at this point that Shanks is a Figarland and son of Garling.
Shamrock is unlikely a clone, simply a brother that Shanks doesnt know he has.
Shanks is probably unaware of the whole thing.

Imo, it was Shamrock who appeared in front of the Gorosei and asked to talk about Loki.
Which ties into what we are seeing now, he asked them to go to Elbaf in order to bring Giants under their control.
And they agreed.

Shamrock might get the spotlight in Elbaf while Shanks vs Garling happens in Mariejois and that is where Shanks learns about everything. I do agree that Shanks is likely the strongest in his family but the difference shouldn't be big, unless proven otherwise.
