Yeah Luffy still has much to learn about CoC. It was never confirmed that Conqueror's coating was the Advanced form. So it's very likely that will be Luffy's next step in progression.

Shanks CoC is country level, damn that is impressive, so far we have only had island level feats. By island level I mean Onigashima, MF, Island on which Roger and WB pirates fought but Shanks CoC is literally country level. He is standing on his ship outside the sea which is beyond the walls of Wano, we can see half of Wano in the panel and just before this we see the whole of Wano in a panel where Onigashima is just a small part of the country.
