I don't see how they mean nothing since Whitebeard was legitimately the WSM and slightly above Roger with multiple people saying his title is credible including Sengoku who was alive during Whitebeard's prime

Even Kaido's title which was mainly ''hearsay'' was considered and still is considered by most people but somehow Mihawk's title who was said pre-ts, confirmed post-ts and reconfirmed again not so long ago, is not valid and doesn't mean anything ?

Zoro fans in a nutshell:
1) Put astronomical expectations on Zoro and Oda (swordsmen are strongest in OP verse and by extension Zoro will be strongest character EOS)
2) Blame, abuse, and call Oda and One Piece shit story if it does not happen
