Shanks had to Stop Kaido from getting to Marineford and Stop the war at Marineford
Shanks already had information about Blackbeards intensions and also knew about the Yami Yami No Mi ( Dark - Dark Fruit ) and its abilities possibly how it can be used to disable other devil fruits like Logias and the ability to take Devil Fruits Abilities and since Blackbeard cant just go and kill Whitebeard to take the Gura Gura No Mi ( Quake Quake - Fruit ) he knew Ace would come seeking revenge for tatch because he ace was his captain in the 2nd Division he used it to capture ace and delivering him to the government it let to the Public Execution of Ace and the Paramount War taking place allowing Blackbeard to take the Gura Gura no mi from a weakened whitebeard

So how was shanks able to get all this knowledge about Blackbeard , Devil Fruits and also about Kaidos plans to go to Marineford?

It starts to get interesting with Kaido because Kaido is directly involved with the Underworld With his SMILE deal with Donquixote Donflamingo
And Kaido knew about Whitebeard and wanted to go to the war but was somehow intercepted by Shanks and we never heard from kaido again until Punk Hazard Arc

Kaido being Stopped in the new world by shanks and him arriving in Marineford within 24 hours is impossible there’s no way that would happen
Shanks used his resources in underworlds and introduced kaido to Doflamingo since he was a broker going under the alias JOKER in the underworld as broker to Create SMILES for Kaido in exchange he doesn’t interfere in the war between Whitebeard and the Marines
this call is just after or just before Kaido and Shanks encounter because shanks either arranged this because kaido was purchasing zoan devil fruits via the underworld for his Zoan Army so Shanks arranged this deal to convince Kaido to not interfere because if Shanks had to stop kaido via force he wouldn’t make it to Marineford in time to stop the war
so this wasn’t for the good but this changed the course of events because shanks helped kaido with the Smiles Deal that helped kaido speed up his zoan army to start his war

12 years ago Shanks stole a Devil fruit being guarded on Government Ship and it turns out that fruit the government wanted so badly was the Gomu Gomu No Mi was accidentally eaten by luffy
How did shanks know about that Ship?
I believe the world government purchased the Gomu Gomu no mi via the Underworld and Shanks was either involved in the deal or learned about this deal from the underworld and tracked down the ship and Stole the fruit back to try to figure out why they wanted it so badly in the first place
