If he was resting his hand/arm on his Sword he should have had his arm/hand/wrist on the handle. But he was holding the grip in a fighting stance ready to draw.
Maybe Oda didn't mean that he used the Sword to send the CoC BUT he clearly drew that panel to show us that Shanks is "Ready to fight".
What is the point if not showing us how serious he was. There was intent in his action "Will" "Haki"

Honestly there should've never been a doubt about Mihawk being the stronger hakiman once the manga have shown top tier swords needing COC just to tame them.
If Enma needed that much haki from Zoro which is not even one of the 12 Supreme Blades, what more of the strongest blade in the entire One Piece World?

all out sword attack, I’d say divine departure can fit that bill along with Mihawks slashes froM MF but this looks like a base attack for shanks effortless lifted his hilt one shot an admiral…
