What if Shanks’s main rivalries throughout the decades are all tied to the will of Davy? Shanks basically being there natural enemy by not only being a successor to Roger and doing his best to lead a path for Nika to return but he also might be an actual descendent of Joyboy

Blackbeard: the son of Rocks/Davy D Xebec who also wants to be king of the world

Loki: as far as we know not a descendant of Davy but he very much idolized Xebec similarly to Luffy with Shanks

Buggy: isn’t the son of Xebec but there’s a decent chance that his a descendant of Davy Jones same way Shanks might be one of Joyboys

Mihawk: don’t believe he’s related to Xebec but I think he could potentially be a follower of the will of Davy. In a similar way to how there are believers of Joyboy. If the marines killed his family due to them preaching of Davy that might be the reason he hated them
