Controversial Share your own piece Journey

#32
Dragon Ball was my gateway manga and the inspiration behind my journey with One Piece. I still remember the summer day when a classmate spoiled Krillin's death for us. That bastard!! Back then, Toriyama's manga was like the news for us... Anyway, I tried my hand at writing manga when I was 15 and again at 17. My first one-shot received an average rating of 可. That was quite a SHOCK! Some time later, I became an assistant to an iconic author who wears a bandanna. Though I'll skip the details since my Sensei was a hentai… but bandannas are kakkoii! I finally got my big break in '97 after releasing two prototypes of what would become my future series. The rest was history.

Imo One Piece may have one of the biggest gaps of ages when it comes to it's fan base over my years on one piece forums i've met people has young as 14 to as old as 50, One piece has had a huge impact on the world and everyone has their own one piece Journey, how they got into it, how long they've been a fan, what was the arc that hooked them etc etc

here's my one piece story

It started when I was about 5 or 6 old enough to watch tv and undertand what was happening when a little channel called 4kids started airing one piece the one piece rap immediately caught my attention this would be the beginning of a beautiful relationship- then it abrubtly ended before we got to alabasta but alas Funimation picked up the rights to one piece and i restarted from the beginning and started watching the dub as it aired, not yet realizing what i was watching was actually an anime and there's a sub version 3 arcs ahead

I discovered the sub version right around fishman island arc, 2009 or 2010 I wanna say just as I was entering high school, and this was also the beginning of my anime watching not just the mainstream ones that came on american tv but the ones you won't know about unless you're truly into anime, such as Gosick, Bludgenoning angel dokuro chan, and thousands more amazing anime that you won't see air on most stations outside of japan.

around 2013-2014 just about to graduate high school i discovered manga, a friend of mine back in the day who also followed one piece told me about it and I started reading not just one piece but manga in general

Then 2016 came along and i began to lurk in one piece forums joining one called One Piece Amino back in the day under the name Yohoho tho most people shortened it to Yoho and the name stuck, during the years i was on amino i rose in power to curator and basically became the shadow leader, but after I left for boot camp some people i was friends with got banned because I allowed them to have a private group chat to be themselves and not act like children as that app became way to strict and started striking people for cussing and having a good time, unfournately i wasn't their to monitor who joined and someone snitched on the happenings in that private chat a lot of people got banned and i got fired for not informing the grand leader the chat existed and good times eventually i got banned half the community left with me and then it slowly died and is now basically a art and rp community with less than 30 daily users where as at its peak it could have up to 400

and then after being banned from there in 2020 I took a break from forums for a while, only peaking in here and other forum sites to read one piece spoilers one day I said eh fuck it I enjoy talking about one piece and I have forum experience may as well join one so bam i joined this one for the spoilers and talk about the chapter, then I tripped into the mafia section and i've been here for almost 2 years now

and that ladies n gentlemen is my one piece Journey and I look forward to another decade to all my fellow one piece fans
started watching since i was little child cuz of my older brother
not just one piece but naruto, detective conan, dragon ball. hxh, slam dunk etc
but i stopped it then started picking up anime around 2013ish
from there started rewatching Main animes such as OP, dragon ball hxh then started reading manga like 2017 or 2018

very short story but thats it

Gotta be 50 :brootea:

My serious answer: One Piece was the second manga I read. The first was Naruto, though I had watched various classic anime like Pokemon, DBZ, Yugioh, Beyblade, etc. before I even knew what anime was. Naruto's manga was still ongoing but steadily nearing its end when I decided to try One Piece, due to my waning interest in Naruto's final war saga.

However, I binge-watched the One Piece anime before starting the manga. I was honestly blown away by the pre-timeskip story, and I didn't mind the animation until somewhere during the Summit War saga. After that, I switched over to the manga at what turned out to be an ideal time.

For all its flaws, disappointments, and moments of decline, One Piece remains the series I've discussed the most and for the longest. Only a handful of other binges compare to what I felt when I first got into OP. That said, I did recently drop it for some months, but my interest eventually came back. One Piece fatigue is real, but Oda has a way of pulling you back in.

I'm 15 bro. You expect me to be 30 like all you guys and have this pfp with the username NicoRobinIsQueen
Yeah it's cool lol. It's just OP has been going on since 1997 so most people tend to be older, since younger ones will take forever to catch up. We're 1100 chapters now.

Still it's a little weird that you were born during Ennies Lobby era :milaugh: Makes me feel ancient.
