Controversial Share your own piece Journey

The classic Route, -> saw it on TV, next to Pokemon, detective conan, dragonball Z etc. later joined weekly manga release after Marine Ford. Followed Sawyer7mage, King of Lightning, Tekking, weekly reactions / reviews on YouTube when naruto shippuden manga was also still going. Fun times.

Started my journey on CartoonNetwork in 2005/6. 1st Naruto then OP. Skipped DBZ & Bleach
I member being fully caught up (manga/anime) with OP by Long Ring Long Land
Cut to now: Got a SH tat on my shoulder :BigW:

This year, I had a real world OP journey
Context: I found out my cousin (who's not an OP fan at all:whitepress:) went to Japan on a fam trip & saw the OP statues.

This genuinely hurt my fandom feelings, so I booked a solo trip to Kumamoto, spent a week there & SAW THEM RIGHT!:lunazing:

OP isn't as popular in my country as Naruto so I've never saw it on TV as a kid. But I knew about OP existence and tried to watch it in my early teens, but didn't like it.
Couple years ago I was preparing for an exam. Decided to procrastinate and opened youtube. I laid my eyes upon one piece lore video that was poping out in my recommendations for several weeks straight. I watched it...and a lot of other lore videos too. I was in desperate attempt to find new hyperfixation. So I spoiled the whole thing for myself before reading the manga.

I was 12, sleeping over my friends house and we were in his bedroom with two other kids. We were watching DBZ, it then turned to One Piece, the Buggy episodes, and we watched as we played Yugioh.

Watched about until the start of the Jaya arc. The monkey characters freaked me out and I felt underwhelmed after the monumental ending to Alabasta.

then in 2014, some people recommended I watch it and I kept getting recommended a Hody Jones amv on YouTube. Watched it and Luffy looked pretty cool. Then I started reading One Piece and caught up around the end of Dressrosa, where Fujitora and Akainu were yelling at each other.

Damn, you missed the weekly Marineford chapters, it was peak.

Kind of similar to how I followed it

After Alabasta and Ennies Lobby I got especially bored on Thriller bark that I stopped watching the anime at beginning of TB.

Later on, like much later I started with the manga and speed read TB.

Now online forums/youtube etc., kind of play a part on following it even tho I am disapppinted with many of the post ts arc's starting from PH/Dressrosa and onwards

Did you watch subs? I remember the 4kids version stopped or switched voice actors, that really threw me off after Alabasta. TB would’ve made me drop it I lasted that long.

Those came out in 2011/2012 right? I remember seeing discussions about it and the Whitebeard hype, as I was reading Naruto weekly

Tekking started with one piece much later on iirc. From 2017.
Wow, time flew by so fast. I think it was someone named Double4Anime then that I mistook for Tekking instead, and also, there was this other guy, Forneverworld I think. Nontheless, Tekking is still one of my favorites for One Piece content.

No clue what happened to the others. I believe King of Lightning is the only other one besides tekking that is still active today from the ones I mentioned.

Saw7yer, I believe, stopped somewhere during the early Egghead Arc, sadly. He also made cool chapter reviews.
