After kaido killed Luffy, his fruit awakened and he became Joyboy in full. So how will Teach reach his full potential? Could he also die and then be reborn as something much darker than the teach we've seen so far?
I think this is very likely the case with him. In his fight with shanks, he will be killed. However through death, Teach will come face to face with absolute darkness and then be reborn.
There's actually a legend about the irl blackbeard. After he was killed and decapitated, its said his headless body swam 3 times around his ship before sinking. I feel like this would fit in well with teach being an undead pirate.
