Yeah, skip the most important character of the entire arc aside from Kaido and Luffy. He doesn't matter at all.

Oden is nowhere near that important, heck, he is dead. He has almost zero importance.

still need to get through Inu/Neko
still need to get through other scabbards
still need to get through leaving Wano
still need to get through WB
still need to get through Roger
still need to get through returning to Wano
still need to get through Toki
still need to get through Orochi's betrayal
still need to get through Kaido

And that's only the absolute minimum. This flashback is at least 30 chapters (ending for chapter 1000 ?).

Did Oda has lost his touch ?

I feel like he's a bit over-ambitious with Wano so far, if that makes more sense...? He is a great writer and I still love the series, even if some people on here like to think differently lol
But with this arc it just feels like he has the need to add exposure to every little thing and explain things that I personally don't think need explaining. And then... certain OTHER things are being clouded in mystery or kept secret which are possible far more important and interesting in my opinion. I think he's trying so hard to put in so much that it just feels... overpacked and kind of underwhelming at the same time. Not to mention the re-use of tropes he's been using for so many arcs already and they start to get really tiring if you ask me...

Based on the comments, not many seem eager to see more of Oden either
