I would need to recheck, but i am pretty sure the wording was:
"took what he wanted, Injured a sweet comander and left", which doesnt have any konnotation of losing, more like no interest in further fighting.

Brulees intention was to scare of Nami pretty much. Sure she wont tell her "Kid came, stole what he wanted to steal, bitchslapped Smoothie and left". But it doesnt seem as he would have any negative part from being in WCI. Also he doesnt mentioned anything in the fight against Linlin for payback or anything.
