Smoker fan here. Used to be a much bigger fan before PH.
He got destroyed by Law, Vergo, and Doflamingo in one arc. His reputation is forever tarnished. I wish he had put up a better fight, even though I don't fault him for losing to stronger characters but Oda really could have just made him defeat Vergo, like I get Law and Doffy but a one arc minion like Vergo? That's pretty brutal, and he was clearly weaker than Vergo too even if the gap wasn't that big.

I know power levels shouldn't be everything but Smoker used to be my favourite marine and one of my top 5 fave characters.
PH reduced him to a hype tool for 3 different characters in one arc, heck 4 if you want to count CC when he was switched with Tashigi. It's hard to have the same level of love for the character because a lot of what made me like him was his relentlessness, but he essentially became Law's lackey, passing off the task of taking down Vergo (of all people ffs) to Law. Too much beta energy honestly from one of the hardest mfers pre timeskip.

They teamed up to defeat Vergo. Kinda funny how Smoker went from being connected to Luffy to suddenly mostly paired with Law on PH. He had Law destroy all the Smoker vs Luffy build up, Oda really respects Law, maybe to a fault at times. I have seen like 2 or 3 Koby fans in my lifetime (one of them has a youtube channel with decent subs/views, the other is somewhere in this forum)

Smh, Smoker fans aren't delusional; we're realistic. Aside from Tashigi fans (shout out to @KiriNigiri and others), we're the most chill people here. We know who he is and what he stands for. We know his character and we don't care about anything but his portrayal and how he sticks to his code of justice. The main fandom were the ones who placed those lofty expectations on Smoker (the next Garp, Luffy's Roger, or whatever else people claim), not us. Knock him, slander him, and talk crap about him if you want, because we don't give a shit what you think. Oh, and if haters ever get hungry.
