My opinion is really that this part of the fight is like this to balance out the first three quarters as long as oda calms down a bit and gets serious next chapter the balance of serious to funny will be fantastic

I think the power-up encapsules the main themes of One Piece in a very interesting way.I do believe that it has to get more serious at some point, with Luffy laughing only after Kaido is down because what the fight actually lacks is anger for what Kaido has done.
It's true that taking Doffy down felt way better than what is seemingly going to happen here.

Improving it immensely. The Dragonball Super style fight people seemed to want is much lamer than this. This is so much more fun and fits much more with the theme and mood of one piece and Luffy.

it does, but it should have been in the starting, not at the end of the fight where things should be more serious. I know there is no tension or stakes but at this point, it looks like Luffy is making fun of Kaido like he is some sort of a joke of a villain.

If a year ago we were told that Luffy vs Kaido's finale will be cartoonish we would have had all of us loose our shit.
Now it's not easy to define the separation line between those who genuinely like this scenario and those who do this only to defend Oda/Luffy

The fight needed this transformation

Kaido move set is boring, and Adv CoC is just adding lightning effects on G4

The storytelling made the fight tolerable, but now after G5 Luffy limitless potential and creative new moves make it more exciting and unpredictable

The design is great as well, and the goofiness fit Luffy perfectly

The light tone is not a slight against the form imo most people arguing the fight will be reduced to a joke until the end are probably just concern trolling and want to complain to waste some time until the next chapter come out

The few pages from 1044 worked fine for me in both fighting scene and comedy tho.
