Except Skypiea's flashback was very relevant to the Shandias who had a prominent role the entire arc
Bonney and Kuma havent done shit post flashback and are now out of the picture.
I didnt think him spending 13 chapters of flashback on a dead character (Oden) when the main villain of the arc got the shittiest backstory in shonen history could be beaten
With all due respect, what happened to Kuma after his golden boy Lolden flashback was nowhere near as horrendous as the treatment Lolda gave to his fumbling of Kaido.
I am an Admiral boi through and through, but like I said before, we all were robbed of a GOATed pirate crew with how Lolda mishandled Kaido and the Beast Pirates.
That's because Lolda made it as if the sun shone out of Lolden's ass, and when his flashback revealed that he was just a mid character, he didn't live up to his hype. In essence, Lolda didn't let his readers make up their own minds about Lolden and ended up making it a stupid flashback.
Kuma, meanwhile, received no hype whatsoever from Lolda. In turn, us readers made up our own mind about Kuma's life, which ended up making the whole flashback well-received.
I disagree with it trying too hard to be tragic, tho. It just IS tragic.
Don’t forget Kuma also got cucked in his own flashback. Like he is a Saint and all that noble good shit but having the love of your life abducted for years when Fisher Tiger existed and raising her illegitimate kid of the people that murdered and enslaved your whole family… is just one of the biggest Ls in life ever.
Yea. That was a lot of damage that got negged out of existence almost as fast as they appeared. The real W from that was that it saved everyone that was caught in Saturn's metaphysical webs.
That Kuma was allowed to punch Saturn is great for current OP standards. Also the arc hasn't ended yet. I believe Bonney's distorted future ability may still be used on herself or maybe even Kuma.
