Questions & Mysteries So why didn't Ousen recruited Kanki to his cause?

One of the biggest mysteries and missed opportunity of Kingdom is that Ousen never got the chance to recruit Kanki to his cause, or at least we never got the chance to know if Ousen ever try to recruit him or not.

We know that Ousen is known for recruiting folks that has potential to join him, Akou is an example, to even enemies of opposing nations, such as Kyou'En of Wei (referring to the battle of Sanyou), Ordo of Yan, and even Riboku of Zhao.

But everytime, Ousen always gets rejected.


Anyway, what about Kanki? Both him and Kanki used to served under the former Great General of Qin, Mougou.

Both seems to get along just fine.

So why? Why didn't Ousen recruited Kanki of all people to join him?

Perhaps because Ousen can't control him because Kanki's thoughts eluded even him?

Or perhaps they didn't have the same goals or motives?

Or they didn't trust each other to begin with?

Or Ousen sees his men as simply pawns while Kanki cares for his bandit army?

Or y'all think Ousen did try to reach him out for recruitment but Kanki said no for XYZ reasons? Etc.

Let me know y'all thoughts on this, cuz I think this is an interesting topic to discuss.

Besides those options listed, Mouten noted that Mougou took a reputational hit just from having Kanki as a Vice General. Mougou's reputation is good enough that he can take such a hit and brush it off.

Ousen already has a bad reputation. His reputation would go into the gutter if he recruited Kanki. Not that he could anyway because Kanki would obviously refuse. Lol.

Because thats how people advance in military ranks, unless you're built as an independent unit off the get go like Mouten/Ouhon/Shin.
