We have seen this with multiple characters now already. And obviously the statement is regarding df users.
Its lame. Also, dfs that could potentially do this are not rare either. Even if not everyone can do it. Its lame for those who can just as much.

If Sommers can grow thorn limbs whenever he needs then why is he not creating extra ones right now?
He could cut all arms and legs off and go full thorn mode. There is no shown downside which implies that limbs are redundant for characters that can replace them with their dfs.
Its best if this does not become the norm and Sommers either lost his hand permanently or his regen is suppressed.
