We’ve been doing some variation of this thread every week since the forum opened…it would honestly be more surprising/disappointing if all of the Scabbards survived the arc at this point. They all feel guilty about living on after their masters perished, so even though Oda brings characters back from the edge of oblivion like it’s the only way he can achieve orgasm, Ashura Doji/Kiku/Kanjuro/Kin (?) should already be deceased and the others might as well sacrifice themselves for all the good it’ll ultimately do.

If a Samurai centered Kabuki play reaches its dramatic climax, a character either must sacrifice a beloved person or do a ritual suicide. A great oppurtunity for the Scabbards to die in place of the Strawhats.
I'd be very happy if most of them died, or none of them sans Kin'emon.

Kin'emon is the only death that I really care for. We've been with him so long and he's more of a father to Momo than oden is in my eyes. Kin'emon sacrificing himself and getting an official death would make me very happy.

I really want to see more of BM, Kaido and New Onigashima. The strawhats becoming the new ghosts in place of the Scabbards (problem: how? Law replacing them?) would give us a little timeskip for rematch preperations. Unfortunately, the existence of O-Tsuru really concernces me.

Does anyone care about the Scabbards deaths?

They are so boring.

In the past, I liked Kin and Denjiro but now I don't care. Their tragedy completely didn't catch me.

I don't feel for them and their oden/wano shit tragedy.
This can change rapidly, depending in how it is executed.

Kinemon is the lone scabbard death I can personally call a tragedy. Not saying I can’t feel for the others but theirs wouldn’t meet tragedy status. They can be sad and have good send offs, but Kin is the only one that could make me sit and think “damn”. We’ve been with Kin a long time and Wano has taken him from just a fine side character to a real one for me.

Exactly this. Idgaf about them. Just end this crap arc already. Denjiro was a much better character when he was Orachi underling. Now Oda reduced him to just another scabbard stroke off for Oden.

Biggest tragedy is all the fights that were off screened in favor of Tama chapters.

Oda ruined Shutenmaru and Denjiro's characters. They should have been villains.
