Yes and no. He’s based on a Japanese folk hero named Ishikawa Goemon who’s more akin to Japanese Robin Hood but a very well loved figure regardless

I liked the animation, but there were some wonky shots of Uta. Overall, the art made up for it. And, YES, One Piece with good pacing is SOOOOOO fucking fun to watch.

I really like that angle, with Ace meant to inherit Roger's Will. That means that Luffy became Joy Boy purely through his own efforts, rather than fate.

Nah, it was fate. Luffy wanting to be free is Roger's Will. That quest for ultimate freedom is what drives Roger and Luffy.

Oda gave Oden a huge and long flashback while the main antagonist Kaido barely got one. He also downgraded Kaido just to hype an already dead character. If you make Oden scar him at least give Kaido a clean win in a spectacular battle but he hasnt because he is a Oden dickrider.

And no words needed about Yamato. A 28 year old women pretending to be a man just because she wants to be Oden lmao.
