INFORMATIONS REGARDING THE TOURNAMENT

* : Condition for the PP:
- Nothing that can get me a banned
- No reactionnary image (racism, transphobia, sexism etc.)

** : Characters and story:
- Your main character needs to be a non-strawhat character ALREADY EXISTING in the story. but you can create your own secondary characters or antagonist if you wish.
- You don't have to write an entire book or a screeplay, a draft or as we call it "an outline" of your story is enough as long as all the elements required are present in you summary. Think about it like a wikipedia summary for a movie but with all the elements instead.

*** : If you need help or tips on the requirements:
- You can ask me anything about the requirements and if you need help on your story I can provide a set of exterior eyes if you want.
- I'm sure authors on this forum will be able to help you too. (make yourself known so we can tag you if you wanna help)

**** : END OF TOURNAMENT AND POLL
- June, 27 2026
- I will not start the poll until I get a good number of applications. (10 would be the best but I willing to settle for less)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO NOT USE AI !!
I CAN'T REALLY CHECK BUT I WILL TRUST YOU. PLEASE DO NOT USE IT.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TALK, CRAFT AND BRAINSTORM YOUR IDEAS ON THIS THREAD

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reward : The winner gets to choose my PP for three entire month!!

- You are an author (manga/book/screenplay, your choice). One morning, you receive a call from your agent: They were contacted by SHUEISHA !!
- Oda decided that he would pass the torch at the end of One Piece to allow people to create something based on his story.
- He chose - YOU to expand upon his universe !!
- But One Piece is not finished yet (chapter 1183) and Oda wants to test you first!

ODA wants to TEST:

- Your creativity
- How you plan narratives ahead
- Your improvizing skills ALL based on what you know and think One Piece will be after the ending of the story!

Take one of One Piece's characters (no strawhats) and write a draft of a post-One Piece story with the following requirements for this character.

HOW TO BUILD A STORY ?

To simplify the process we will use A simplified version of the "Save the cat" Method: Add these beats to your story. (you can skip some, add new ones or change the order):

1 - Introduction (set up of your story and your character)
2 - Inciding incident (something happens to your character)
3 - Break into Act 2 (how Your character decides to follow the call of adventure)
4 - Fun and Games (where the fun of your concept happens)
5 - Midpoint of the story (a false victory or a false defeat)
6 - Antagonist closes In (the tension is raising)
7 - All Is Lost (the worst happens to your character)
8 - Dark Night of the Soul (your character is in despair)
9- Break into ACT 3 (new piece of information, a new hope)
10 - The Finale showdown (the confrontation between your character and the antagonist)
11 - The resolution (an "image" of the transformed world of your character)

REQUIREMENTS (what you need to include):

- A desire (what goal is pushing your character to move forward ?)
- An antagonist (who will stop your character from achieving their goal ?)
- A conflict (what will your character have to face or resolve to achieve their goal)
- A flaw (what character flaw is pushing your character to hurt others or themselves ?)
- A need (what does your character need to change to stop hurting others or themselves ?)
- An impossible choice (what choices is your character stuck between to resolve the conflict ?)
- A transformation (how will your character evolve to stop hurting others or themselves ?)
- The worldbuilding context of your mini-story
- A brief summary of your mini-story (beginning / middle / end)

When finished, quote me @ logiko with all the requirements and a name for your story on this thread.

The winner will be chosen upon a poll, you have three weeks, top chronos !!

For people who do not know, I'm using here mainly the Truby method (I removed a few things) for the requirements. It's the basic, but you can go beyond if you are interested, here is a summary of his work (I think, I never looked at this specific website)

https://www.beabrilliantwriter.com/anatomy-of-story-truby/

Or just read his anatomy of story directly :

https://www.amazon.fr/Anatomy-Story-Becoming-Master-Storyteller/dp/0865479933

Maybe I should rapidely tell you how to build the very basic elements of a story first if you never tried:

This website should help you with that: https://savethecat.com/beat-mapper

You don't have to put everything and you can add a lot of things or change the order, it's up to you, it's YOUR story.. These beats are usually very usefull in the western stories (a little bit less for non-western ones). Your goal is mainly to create something that create emotion, stakes and the investment of the audience.

Again, if you need more information about the beats don't be afraid to ask.

Maybe I will add these beats to the requirement so the process becomes easier
