General & Others Straw Hat fights which don’t involve Luffy, Zoro, or Sanji.

Back when Robin joining was still a spoiler, Greg listed every fight and technique the Straw Hats had used in the series. There was a notable drop after Luffy, a considerable drop after Zoro, and comparatively nothing after Sanji. That was almost twenty years ago... I'd feel a little crazy complaining about it now

I covet to see Robin have her 1 on 1 so if it keeps turning out to be an handicap match I would not feel pretty good from my personal perspective.

Jinbe v WsW solid if it occurs, but less than a missed Jinbe v Jack in good physical conditions.

Franky v Sasaki good match up he is an F6.

I actually liked some of these fights more than Luffy and Sanji fights.

Chopper had a great fighting style with the whole Brain Point analyzing the enemy’s weakness and then having 3 minutes to finish them off.

Usopp’s fights were funny as hell.

Nami’s fights were always the most creative and fun to watch.

Even if I wasn’t a huge fan of his, Franky’s battles are objectively some of the coolest non-M3 fights in the whole series. He dogwalked Fukuro in Enies Lobby; whooped Baby 5/Buffalo in Punk Hazard; outlasted Machvise, kissed Kyuin into submission, and had a gentleman’s clash for the ages with Senor Pink in Dressrosa; aside from all that, what he’s done in Wano has been nothing short of stellar - smashed Big Mom’s face with his motorcycle, fried a Number with a laser, and sliced Sasaki’s stomach open with a fucking light sword. None of this even accounts for General Franky!! Come on!! :fransuper::steef:

I like combo moves which are some of why I love the non Monster trio fights because they use super cool combos.

Usopp shooting a hammer from Choppers antlers, chopper suplexing hog back off of robins arms, and Brook being thrown through the air by Usopp and Frankys slingshot are some of the coolest things in the manga. Which is why I think the tobi roppo vs pairs/teams is a cool concept.

Carrot and Nami would be a cool combo with so many possibilities. Nami predicting and changing the weather too assist Carrots sulong transformation (pero made a comment about it being a shame it’s weather dependent) while Carrots electro empowers Namis thunder attacks or Usopp using choppers monstrous height to always have a high ground and range against an opponent While Usopp uses his debuffing attacks to weaken or blind enemies so Chopper can out muscle them

Theres so many opportunity here and I’m glad Oda uses the weaker straw hats to highlight teamwork.

Wow, why exactly could you not care less about them?
Well, to be honest it is mostly attributed to personal preferences and my very own life style, so it is kind of complicated.

I do not like Zoro and Luffy because they are strong. It is because they can act as the situation requires and are striving to better themselves ALL the time. Luffy is childish, and yet you can see him becoming extremely serious towards Luccy and Katakuri, Zoro has his quirks but is reliable. You can see them fulfill their goals even if alone.

The other Straw Hats are static, they never train (aside Timeskip), they do not develop themselves, their mindset is the same since introduced. They have their goals, but are being carried by Luffy/Zoro all the time. Isolate them and you can't see them achieving their goals EVER. To make matters worse, they turn every situation into comic relief, every single one.

Sorry for the rant, but that's my opinion. If you make a spin-off of Straw Hats not named Zoro, Luffy, Sanji, Jinbei and perhaps Franky I can't see them achieving anything of note. I'm all for comedy, but not for complacency and incompetence.

Non-monster trio Straw Hats seem to be doing well in going up against the Beasts Pirates in this arc.
